WTF has happened with Arturia? Upgrades used to be insta-buy. They're now insta-no-effing-chance. What a great way to lose all that good-will. You often saw people on forums praising Arturia's upgrade policies. Not any more.
€299? for what? If I give them €399 do you think they'll take out all the Augmented crap?
I don't think I'll buy anything Arturia again judging by the last few releases and the prices they want for them... Jeeez. What a disappointment.

149€ for me. I own V Collection, including all Augmented stuff and FX Collection including the Motion Movement thing. Only thing i didn´t buy was the 303 emu when it came out. 149€, wow, that´s a hard pass. Was thinking 49€, maybe 69€ or maybe even 99€. But 149€??? Never!

99eu, i got all except the aug piano.
so 99EU for the CP70, Augmented Piano and updates of the wurli/minimoog and 3 presetpacks, I am okay with it.
Not extremely cheap, but not exceptionally expensive as well.
Bought it

Here's the better news - for me on v8, Analog Lab's update has quite a lot of presets from the new Mini, Wurli and - more surprisingly - Acid. About 80 or so each. For the Mini and Wurli, you don't get a separate instrument, but clicking either in Explore loads both old and new. You can then sort by Instrument. All the old mini presets are labelled Mini (V3) and the new just Mini (same sorta thing for Wurli).
No CP70, MiniFreak or Augmented synths though. Oh well.
The Mini does sound very good, and they've added a lot of features to make it a maxi-mini.

Nearly in the same situation... Not a tragedy, will keep using the current stuff for a while.adl wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 5:00 pm 149€ for me. Doesn't Analog Lab usually have presets added from the latest collection even if you're a couple versions behind? I have v8, and I see the Acid V is one of the choices in AL (there are 60 presets for it), but nothing for the other new instruments.

Look 3 posts up - there are also new Mini and Wurli presets, but none of the others.Examigan wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 5:07 pm Doesn't Analog Lab usually have presets added from the latest collection even if you're a couple versions behind? Well, the Augmented Woodwinds is enough to get me to check it out.
And was originally waiting for them to add the Augmented Piano/Brass to the collection as well.
Regarding the CP-70...
I'm one that actually likes that sound and attribute it as much as part of the '80s as do those that seek the supersaws of the '90s (which are mostly 'meh' to my ears.)
So the Mini-Freak had not interested me much either.
And there is a sound difference between the CP-70 and the CP-80.
The XLN CP-70 has had the best timbre, but not the best playability and the Pianoteq is the CP-80. Grand 3 seems to be an average between the two, but leans more to the 80.
I had a TB303, and never liked the limited sound range it had and it was best when it was "broken" and locked into playing a continual "music salad" which became a fantastic trainer in just playing with/against it in personal practice.
So that plugin is a big yawn from me as well.
Some of these last instruments show me a clear dichotomy of who they're trying to market to. So this mixed bag will start leaving one group or another out in each update now. Personally thinking it's time for them to have different Collrction Labs. Let the vintage synths be their own thing, the organs their own, the pianos/clavs their own, etc.
But I see they've planned my day ahead in downloading...

I really enjoy their Augmented Series so it’s quite appealing BUT the CP70 was a dog in its day and it’s totally beyond me how anyone would want that awful twangy sound - if it’s true to the original - and not just use any other awful sounding sampled piano.
At the time it was popular there were no alternatives to the CP range other than to schlepp a real piano around.
From a nostalgic point of view I get it but that’s it IMHO.

Looking forward to demo Wurly V3. I hope it’s at the same level as Stage 73 V2 now. But upgrades of single instruments used to be cheaper too.

It's getting very easy for me to skip most updates from everyone.
I'm pretty much done with N.I., I've been skipping updates from AAS,
and with Arturia, I've got the V Collection, the FX Collection, and Pigments, and they want $299 for me to update (signed in). I'm not even remotely considering it.
I might be done with Arturia too, unless they come up with a super offer in the future.
I've got plenty of other stuff to use, and some of it I like much better. Time will tell.

What's this strange feeling I have...NOT wanting a plugin?!?
What's the opposite of GAS?
Should I seek help?
I don't care much for the augmented series either, but folks, they clearly are going for the widest user base, perhaps trying to grab more soundtrack producers. Their sales numbers, or market research must be warranting more of these, or they wouldn't keep making them. And if they stripped Augmented into a separate bundle, it would have fewer instruments, and they couldn't charge as much. It is a business after all, unfortunately.
