I can't remember exactly the release prices of 9, but undoubtedly the deals at the end of a cycle are massively better than at the beginning so it's a lot of heat and fury for the norm.SHall1000 wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 9:49 pmNot on initial release that price would have been a much later sale. For what it's worth, my upgrade price was $99. I already purchased Acid V and Augmented Brass (not sure if the latter is "new" to X or not. I don't keep track of dates that scrupulously with Arturia as they are so generous.)noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 10:20 pmI can't remember exactly the release prices of 9, but undoubtedly the deals at the end of a cycle are massively better than at the beginning so it's a lot of heat and fury for the norm.SHall1000 wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 9:49 pmNot on initial release that price would have been a much later sale. I checked my v9 breadcrumbs and I was offered 199.00 in May of 22 just like this round with v10.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 10:20 pmI can't remember exactly the release prices of 9, but undoubtedly the deals at the end of a cycle are massively better than at the beginning so it's a lot of heat and fury for the norm.
I am fine to wait it out to the spring - when the inevitable $99.00 finally gets to me.

My upgrade price is also $199. MiniFreak V sounds interesting, but I've also been waiting for a no-brainer price on a used hardware version and getting the software for free (plus a better upgrade price for V10?). I'd possibly use CP-70 and Acid, but the others don't interest me anyway.
I wish they'd also factor in our hardware purchases. As someone who owns a PolyBrute, MatrixBrute, and two Keystep 37s on top of V9 and the FX collection, I think I should get V10 for $9 plus a free Arturia t-shirt and coffee mug.

Currently on V9 with separate purchases of Acid, MiniFreak and others…
The only new thing outside 3 Augmented instruments that I don’t have is CP-70 V.
My upgrade price is $149.
Needles to say, I will not be upgrading to V10.

Since you can sell hardware or additional licences isn't it logical they can't give you a better deal? That would only work if they would merge (or surrender how ilok calls it iirc) the licences into a new one. Impossible for hardware.

Maybe, but I still want that t-shirt and coffee mug.mi-os wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 11:34 pm Since you can sell hardware or additional licences isn't it logical they can't give you a better deal?

Interesting how the Mini V went back to looking more like it did originally.
I don't know about these new drop down menus though.
On a sidenote, what happened to those 30 Classic Drum Machines way back in V3?

I own licenses for V Collection 9, FX Collection 4, Minifreak (included license from the hardware), Pigments, Spark 2, and several other bits of Arturia hardware (Matrixbrute, Microfreak, Minibrute 2S, but my upgrade price is $199.
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

I didn’t log into my user account yet, so at the moment I don’t know my upgrade price; anyway the list of new instruments doesn’t seem much interesting for what I do (it may be useful to other people, hopefully).
About the Minimoog “rebuild”: while it’s not the most original instrument choice when it come to what to emulate (it has been done to death), I think it’s sort a “benchmark” once you have it in your product portfolio.
It’s so easy to say “this company does the Minimoog worse than the other brand, so it’s the same for the whole product line” (and maybe the other products have been developed after the Minimoog and have some improved tech… it’s not a fair or even correct comparison, but since it’s possible to compare the Minimoog emulations from various brands, I think it’s sort of a “business card”).
Do I need 10 Minimoog emulations? I wish I had just one, a definitive emulation. I’m not interested in adding yet another one (actually: upgrading what I own), but I can see the reasons behind it… I didn’t listen to the new version yet, hopefully I won’t need yet another Minimoog emu (that’s what my bank account hopes, too).

Same, TBH, especially since I have the Minifreak license already that was included with the hardware version. It is a fantastic bit of kit. I would pay 3X the hardware price for 2X the voices and a real keybed.sin night wrote: Wed Dec 13, 2023 12:37 am I didn’t log into my user account yet, so at the moment I don’t know my upgrade price; anyway the list of new instruments doesn’t seem much interesting for what I do (it may be useful to other people, hopefully).

Yeah once you have some additional licenses parallel to older V-Collection the upgrade price is a bit "un-inviting"...Atlatnesiti wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 11:22 pm Currently on V9 with separate purchases of Acid, MiniFreak and others…

V-6, with OB-Va, Acid-V, Minifreak etc - 299 for me
This makes it a bit unpleasant to buy new products as single purchases, if they end up later in the newer V-Collection with a tasty upgrade price.
