It's in a tote in the garage with all the rest of the stuff :hihi: . The Crybaby was actually the first pedal I ever got in like 91 or so, I'm surprised it's still here, still looks as new as it does, and still works as it always has. Used to have a rehearsal space, but now that Im old and not playing out anymore, I only have my 'little' AC15 in here (on top of a 2x12) and the 'essentials'. My poor JCM800 and my big pedaltrain pro and everything else are all in the garage stored away.

Same here. Same time, too.

I Got a Dunlop CryBaby, BOSS Metalzone, and..... a BF-2!

Sold the Metalzone a couple years later. Still have the CryBaby and BF-2.

My first pedal was also a crybaby, I overused it, it had no chance to survive, too much inspiration by Hendrix to destroy things haha

Phaser and Flanger are modulated reverbs
Yes, and clouds are giants' cushions attached to the sky...
Cool!
A well-behaved signature.

They're similar but different. This type of effect was achieved first using tape delay.

In terms of electronic effects, Phasers came first. They were built with resistors and capacitors. The circuit is a special type of filter called an all pass filter. An all pass filter is flat across the audio spectrum but causes a phase shift. By varying the resistance, the phase shift can be swept. Phaser plugins are digital but they emulate the analog components and circuitry,

Flangers use delay. The first ones used bucket brigade delays which are basically a series of analog switches and capacitors. A clock shifts the sampled analog voltage through a series of capacitors. The time that it takes to get from the input to the output depends on how fast the clock is. By varying the clock, the delay varies. Adding a varying delay to the input signal results in a comb filter. As the delay changes the comb moves across the spectrum. This is the same effect that was achieved first using tape delay.

If you're interesting in ancient history, here are my memories:

https://www.eventideaudio.com/50th-flas ... t-flanger/

Funnily enough the phaser was designed before LEDs were available so it used incandescent bulbs!

Yes. I already mention. They sound fantastic.
Probably 1st studio flanger and phaser. The flanger was used on Bowie's song Ashes To Ashes on the iconic piano.

Oh, a high level visit! :o

Welcome to KVR! :hail:

Instant Phaser MKII is by far my most favourite phaser by the way - I think I use at least one instance of it in every song of mine.

Yep. Eventide flanger was used by Visconti on Ashes to Ashes. Here's the tale -
