A modifier key could work, currently I think there is already Alt on mac is used for reset, and ctrl on mac is right click, and shift is for fine drag. So perhaps a Alt+Ctrl? I'll look into it.bmanic wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 11:06 pm Couldn't it just be behind a modifier key? Like holding ALT/Option/CTRL held while moving input gain would move output gain in the opposite direction.

Ok, so as far as pedal reproductions for presets I've currently got:
* Ibanez TS808
* Ibanez TS9
* Ibanez TS9DX +
* Ibanez TS9DX Hot
* Ibanez TS9DX Turbo
* Ibanez MSL Metal Screamer
* Boss SD-1
* EQD Plumes
* Mesa Grid Slammer
Any more people would like that there have schematics for online?

Ok, I think I found the schematics for a few more mods thanks to general guitar gadgets, who I've bought some fuzz kits from:
http://generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_its8_mods.pdf
This includes the following mods:
* AMZ Fat
* Keeley 808 Reissue
* Expensive Boutique Modification (I'm assuming this is the analog man one)
I can do presets for all of these, but there is a double shelving high pass in the drive section keeley mod that won't be possible, but this shouldn't be too different from what I can do - it's just an easier way to solder extra components onto an existing circuit (in parallel).

What kinds of distortions is The Scream constrained to? I am no expert on the different distortion topologies. A couple of pedals I'd love to have emulations for are the Coloursound Fuzz and a Foxtone Fuzz. But I am not sure if they could be modeled with The Scream.. ??
It would be cool to have circuit sections from different topologies, drag and drop, into a circuit bilder in The Scream...

Yes, the pad should work too. However, if I'm the only one asking really no need to spend time on it.andy-cytomic wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 10:39 pm Do you mean a pre / post opposite link that preserves the total gain? This gets complicated with DAW automation. The way I worked around this was to provide a "pad" button in 6 dB increments for The Drop, between -12, -6, 0, 6, 12, would that work?
I can set up pre/post link in REAPER.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

stupid question, for what do you use it? i like GLUE so i see this plugin and am interested too. but is it somethin special if you got many distortion plugins already?

Yeah, key modifier would be perfect.noiseresearch wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 7:43 am Having a key modifier for that would be great solution.

As I said already I use it mostly as a subtle drive (you can set it to have a flat frequency responce and little distortion) on the master.Caine123 wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 8:22 am stupid question, for what do you use it? i like GLUE so i see this plugin and am interested too. but is it somethin special if you got many distortion plugins already?
Compared to other plugins for similar uses I'd say this feels more interactive somethow. And it's just fun to fiddle with it.
Thing with all Cytomic plugins, is that they are consistent. What I mean is that many other plugins with nonlinearities modelled have a range where they sound good, but outside of that range they are kinda unnatural. Not so with Cytomics.

Tubescreamer is an overdrive, not a distortion.Caine123 wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 8:22 am stupid question, for what do you use it? i like GLUE so i see this plugin and am interested too. but is it somethin special if you got many distortion plugins already?
One that uses soft clipping, and boosts the mids.
- Tubescreamer is one of the very best selling pedals, ever.
Used by guitar players to add dirt, overdrive a guitar amp's preamp, or shape the EQ.
- being a common guitar pedal, it may have been overlooked for other purposes.
You mention you have many distortions.
As to overdrives, many guitar players have lots of those, with most differing mostly in terms of a slightly different EQ profile.
But if you like overdrives, even if you don't play guitar, it may still make sense to get some of the main types: a 'transparent' one, one that boosts the mids, something like a Klon (hard clipping; wet/dry - The Klone is free!)...

And it's worth mentioning that The Scream is by far the most detailed overdrive pedal model ever, giving you full access to tweak the actual individual components.
.. and it sounds incredible though if you want literally zero aliasing and pretty much one to one match with hardware you need to sacrifice some CPU cycles. However, it's incredibly well optimized so even when the HD mode is not turned on and you run at only 2x oversampling, it still sounds incredible!
In general it's a very useful plugin that works for pretty much any type of audio signals, as demonstrated by the recent "mastering" preset that Andy presented here a few days ago.
As a general rule of thumb: Cytomic products = ridiculously detailed emulations and almost excessive levels of perfectionism. In short, "the best" in the business, in my opinion.. and I really do mean the whole DSP business as a whole. Andy is at the very top 0.00001% of the best. Period.

Might be a step too far from an IC based drive to a Ge tranny fuzz.plexuss wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 3:59 am What kinds of distortions is The Scream constrained to? I'd have been happy with an ST9 emulation but I'm not sure if the extra mid-boosting IC stage is possible.

Finally went to cehck this out and it looks like I missed this preset but I look forward to the full set once ready. Will be nice to see The Scream officially out of beta and with a ton of presets.andy-cytomic wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 11:31 pm ok, I found a more accurate version of this:
https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Greengage.pdf
Here is the preset for it:

The main difference is Plumes uses op-amps at the input / output instead of BJT, but that shouldn't make too much difference to the sound, The Scream will have a tiny bit more non-linearities at the buffers. Also Plumes is -9 to +9 V, The Scream is biased at 9V between 0 and 18V, but that also shouldn't matter in practice.
Then we can start pestering you for a Fuzz Face and a Big Muff and a Rat, all at the same level.

Andy has never mentioned doing any of those but has mentioned doing more distortion pedals like the ones I mentioned. I think by this time next year Audiority will have covered two of the three you just requested.jamcat wrote: Sun Dec 17, 2023 11:30 pmNo!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Dec 17, 2023 9:28 pm Then we can start pestering you for a Fuzz Face and a Big Muff and a Rat, all at the same level.![]()
