I just like it, it works, does what I need. Why change?musicdoc wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 7:23 am Why this attachment to an old 20 yo card? Is there something special about it when any number of modern variants can be had quite affordably? I seem to remember an emu sampler/synth that might have been part of the package back then. But that was many moons ago:)
I guess there is some sentimental value to it because it was my first "real" soundcard, some people like to collect valueless stuff, others like to watch birds, others like old soundcards... It is a complex world.

Anyway, here's the kX and E-MU driver settings I used to have the 1616m to send its analog outputs into its ADAT outputs and having the 1820m synced with the 1616m's clock and receiving 1616m's ADAT, both cards in the same machine.
I just did a very simple initial setup in kX's DSP settings because I needed to figure out the routings first ( The Mixy 8x2 plugin is not needed there now, of course ).
Sometimes when the computer boots I need to click the "reload firmware" button to have sound from the 1616m. Other than that, seems to work perfectly ( But I am just sending the inputs of the 1616m into the 1820m ).
