I am listening to a lot of Brazilian music and I was just wondering where that notion has come from that music needs to have drums (kick, snare, hihat etc)?
It feels nice to listen to music that does not have drums as such.

I am particularly hostile towards kick drums with included bass, they are destroying music by destroying the flow.

i'm just guessing but drums gives certain music genre the "drive"?
rock music mostly?
it gets it "rolling"?

i guess without john bonham, the other three couldn't get it rolling

drums is the heart
bass is the pelvis
distortion guitar is the balls/nipples
lyrics is the partner of melody

if the drums isn't crucial, the leader of the band wouldn't have it there?

i'm glad robert smith and nick lowe and many others kept the drums

And that was 150 years ago, glad he was spared EDM, Rock etc.

Btw, I don't mind percussion and real drums, I am more against the usual drum kit and the usually primitive rhythms played on it.

I won't even watch it. It was clear that someone would post a video of an uncommonly non-primitive rhythm and drum kit. The exception to the rule...

BTW what's the diffeeence between "real drums" and the "usual drum kit"?
