We have also introduced an option for smoothing the calculated smart:filter curve. Smoothing means that the filter effect is not as detailed as in the standard setting, which can make the processing sound a little softer and more subtle."

That strikes me as important. I wonder how it's implemented. Edit: it appears it's applied across the entire curve... probably an OK design choice.
The upgrade price isn't too offensive. I guess I'll upgrade in order to get some value out of V3, which currently doesn't really work for me.

seems you can also load a reference track to further hone in on a sound eg select Bass profile and load a bass track as reference track

Seems like a good update, getting some weird bugs with the group/instance view, or maybe it's just confusing. It was pretty straight forward in eq3 and I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the 'instances' and 'groups' and adding them, sometimes the other instances of eq4 show up, sometimes they don't, why do I have to create a new instance? what is the difference between an instance and a group? I AM CONFUSED

When I "learn" a sound, it hangs in the learning part. It doesn't go further.
Sometimes it's working they way it should work.

What DAW are you using? I can't use smart eq4 in FL Studio. The group view bugs out and is a total mess.

I'm having the same happen. Seems to be about a 50/50 chance it'll work properly. Replacing the plugin instance has worked for me to unstick. I am using Bitwig 5.1
