Useful. I've never even noticed it, but the computer is online to be fair.MirkoVanHauten wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 7:21 pm It doesn't work offline (like a system that never goes online). The plugins periodically re-checks the license, which is asking for permission online. Yes, I've asked support with one of the recent updates, Adam told me, and their EULA says that as well:
3. Usage Conditions
3.4. Where online activation of the Licenced Materials is required:
3.4.1 You need to have the Licenced Materials connect to Our server at least once every thirty (30) days;
3.4.2 You are authorized to activate the Licenced Materials on three (3) computers at any time.

The issue is not just about the 90 days, it's about the need to server connection to authorize the plugins even if it's just for the first installation.noiseboyuk wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 7:06 pmSee now, when you're complaining about something and don't actually say what you're complaining about despite a page about climate change and gawd knows what else, there's no getting snarky with people who have the audacity to actually ask what your problem is.Frankie.T wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 6:45 pmIt means the plugin needs to connect to their servers to be functional. So everytime you install it, it doesn't works without their server authorization.
I don't know if they change it, but it at least till Nexus 3, the plugin/refx cloud needs an online verification at least once every 90 days.
Is it more clear now?
I've looked, and I can't see any reference now to the 90 day thing, so it may well have gone. Since you apparently haven't checked either and as it is apparently a dealbreaker for you, why don't you ask support? (after Christmas).
I clearly stated in a previous posts, and msvs clearly got my point of view (i don't get why it's so hard for you to do the same), i want to buy, download my products and be able to use it without the need to authorize it to servers, even if it's just once per installation.
If you have plugins from U-he, FabFilter, Melda, GForce just to name a few, that's the way i'm talking about.
So I remembered correctly, thank you very much for writing it!MirkoVanHauten wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 7:21 pm It doesn't work offline (like a system that never goes online). Great - you're right, Manuel clearly saw it was quickest and best to tell you to go elsewhere.

So like said: Nexus is not for you if you dont want to accept their TOS (to be online).

Im not sure how many computers these days are NOT online? and you don’t ‘ask permission’ to use it. As others have said, if it’s not for you, move on
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

I can certainly understand folks wanting SN. It’s fair to ask a developer to implement it, too.
But if that doesn’t transpire (and now with all the facts and the EULA fully outlined) then it’s time to move on, rather then keep banging on about how the snide version is more user friendly. That’s just shit-posting.

Extract from EULA posted above, apparently every 30 days online check in. Contradicts my understanding of the FAQ which only mentioned (what I saw) online for activation. Happy to be proven wrong.Lbdunequest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 12:02 pm As far as i remember Nexus 4.5 doesnt require to always be online only when activating?

My recollection is that it use to be every 30 days but now it only does it once...
Maybe the EULA hasn't been updated but the FAQ has?

Good point. Either the FAQ is wrong, or the EULA is. But which?

Ah look, I actually did a thumbs up to that post by FigBug lol
Knew it had been discussed before.
@FigBug:
So the EULA hasn’t been updated?

It seems not. The lack of official confirmation of any of this is nuts.
Still there we go Frankie T - after activation, no asking for "permission" any more it seems.
