Hi I just bought the alpha, there seems be no presets, only templates for the DX emulation.
Is this correct?

Yes that is correct. Hopefuly next week I will implement loading SM2 presets. Right now, it can load SM1 presets (if you have it installed).

Here some info I gathered over the many pages here:

VST3 support (this looks like mandatory, Steinberg does NOT allow new plugins with VST 2.4)
Flexible routing for layer modules (4 oscillators, 4 modulators, 4 FX, 4 adders, 4 multipliers that can be connected to each other dynamically)
dynamic number of layers, up to 16 layers
Being able to load SynthMaster One / SynthMaster 2.9 presets into layers
Granular synthesis
Sample editor
Wavetable editor
(if time permits) flexible sequencer with velocity/key regions.
Direct disk streaming
Pitch detection/spectral analysis/spectral envelope extraction (in progress, monophonic pitch detection is almost working)
Granular synthesis

16 Layers per preset max.
32 modulation sources per layer max
16 modules per layer max

Bulent also mentioned this: 30 DX7 algorithms can be added to SM3. Algorithms 4 and 6 use multi operator feedback, which is not possible yet. I will create template presets for those 30 algorithms. and hopefuly I can implement sysex import for those in the future.

MPE does not seem to work... Maybe I didn't find the place to switch it on?
There is a MPE cross in the KYBD tab, but that doesn't do anything...

There is a MPE cross in the KYBD tab, but that doesn't do anything...

I haven't fully tested MPE yet. but one thing is certain: VST3 versions of our products are not MPE compatible yet.

Good to know, I didn't expect that. Will try the VST2. Any Plans for CLAP??? Would make Synthmaster 3 a super plugin, as in Bitwig you could modulate/automate it per voice...
The installer insists to quit Bitwig, which is annoying as Bitwig is a DAW that does not need to be restarted to recognize and load a newly installed plugin. Just a message the DAW might be needed to restart should do it...

P.S. Loaded VST2, no MPE at all, unless I did not find the right spot to activate it...

just came here to say that I got the SM3 Alpha and it really sounds amazing!! Congrats guys!! looking forward for the finished product but I am already so glad to see how it opens to new explorations now.

Just one thing if I may, can we have a Skin with the Old look (2.

? just because I was so used to that interface and really don't connect with the more modern (ipad style) look.

Hello guys, sorry to bother. I have the Everything bundle and Synthmaster 3 alpha is already in my user area but when I try to download lic file it says I have to purchase it. It is correct since it is the alpha? Will synthmaster 3 be free for Everything bundle owner?

With the latest rev 14480 update, All SM1 presets should open now (I've gone through all of them yesterday). But SM2 work is not complete yet, so I don' think SM2 presets would load.

Hi, I just bought the Everything Bundle for $54.00 as an upgrade from Synthmaster 2, which also includes the Alpha of Synthmaster 3. Does this also include the upgrade to version 3 of Synthmaster or do I have to buy the final version again for $29.00?
