The new Bite Osc in the Grid/Polymer is lovely sounding and can be pleasingly characterful. It also goes well with the new filters. For example, Bite -> Vowel Filter is a good combination.EnGee wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:53 pmIt opens a new dimension in sound design especially if combinex with the different modulators there.pdxindy wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 4:13 pm
I don't know about the sound quality... but you can definitely reach the CPU consumption of Diva![]()
The Voice Stacking is a powerful sound design tool. Works well for doing granular stuff in the Sampler... for layering two close but different sounds... stack of two and pan them left and right... great for 2 sequences that offset each other... etc., etc., etc.
The new capabilities in 5.1 for soloing each voice, and the tools for working with each stacked voice in the Grid are impressive.
The only two things (or synths) that I miss now are NI Razor and a good physical modal synth like Objekt. That's why I sometimes use Windows or Mac. It's because of that.
Anyway, I still can use only Bitwig, but I must design my own sounds because what's there aren't that good enough for me, which is a great practice to use as much as I can of Bitwig's abilities in sound design![]()
I appreciate that every time they add a new Oscillator or Filter or Env type, Polymer is like a new synth. Add in the Voice Stacking and there's nothing like it in other DAW's or even in 3rd Party Plugin synths.
