Finder stops responding when Signed In to iCloud.
MacBook M1 Max.
Issue was happening since OS 12. Currently on OS 14. So I'm currently using it without iCloud but need iCloud for various reasons.

rare problems are often User Error. Been there.
Did you tell iCloud System preferences to upload all your documents to iCloud, but you have slow internet for iCloud?
If you turn on iCloud and Finder looks there, is iCloud turned off in the Finder Sidebar so its invisible?
Do you have iCloud set to sync with other devices, but there's a glitch?
or something else
Hypnosis may be needed to retrieve your memories of what you did years ago, but etrecheck finds old executables you left in your system, like antivirus, that now go nowhere.

IIRC MacOS or OSX installed say on a new computer has that iCloud as source for your documents as default. This is a terrible idea for more than one reason, and it would tend to make Finder a nightmare unless a fast and reliable wifi connection.
I mean I remember the 'WTF is going on' when I was setting up, fortunately I was in the Apple Store with one of their crew who told me what it was.
