Kazrog AmpCraft - how is it?

Hello,
I see Kazrog AmpCraft is on sale and quite cheap at the moment, if I understand well it is the successor of Thermionik which was highly rated.
How does it compare *soundwise* to Guitar Rig Pro (v6), NAM, and other similar products?
Is it also good for clean sounds besides high-gain leads and crunch?
Does anyone have any experiences to share?
Thanks in advance,
Mario

No, certainly not - Thermionik was a suite of a variety of amp-sims, AmpCraft on the other hand is just a single highgain amp, which rather limits its usefulness.mabian wrote: Sun Dec 31, 2023 9:57 am if I understand well it is the successor of Thermionik which was highly rated.

Thanks, so why was thermionik stopped? I understand new amps for ampcraft are going to be released in 2024 btw.

Which was almost six years ago... Ampcraft was released quite a while after that though, so it appears his plans have changed in the meantime.

Well, he likely had time to change and improve on the original concept, but "AmpCraft" pretty much sounds in line with what that 2018 post says.
The idea of "putting things under one roof" and having a single plugin for the entire guitar FX chain (and with cool graphics, in line with the competition), instead of multiple "GUI-less" plugins for every single element as it was done on Thermionik.
'1992' is, as the product page says, the first in a new line of amp modeling plugins.
I don't know if the next released ampsim gets a separate pugin like NeuralDSP does, or gets included in "AmpCraft" similar to what Mercuriall does.

I picked it up on sale. I really like Kazrog Thermonix. It is a step up in a few ways. Note.....I am not really a high gain player but understand some things ie chug and harmonics.
The clarity and definition seems to be slightly better. Thermonix was already great.
A bit tighter in the low end vs Psycho (similar Thermonix amp.)
Higher oversample range.... I believe
Quite sensitive
Cool graphics. if you like staring at the amp while you play.
Pedals and cab sim inside one plugin
Clean is clean. Nothing special
Can do the edge of breakup if you roll back the volume on a PAF

Great program, Kazrog has good quality software in general in my experience.
