Heya,
I wish you a nice 2024 !

I wish me more Wah, for that ***Funk***, haha. (Refering to guitar.playing only)
Asking for your tipps and recommendations please ?
where to look ? what filter type do you prefer ?

Ok, i have fresh the Kuassa Wah and Phaser.
The Wah seems a good starting point, but more ? ......i´m not too convinced.
Could have to do with my Foot Pedal. I use the Moog Pedal + midi converter.
( but i patch in GP (Host), so i can adjust the curvature)
( The guitar is cheap( Strat), but sounds ok right now over my Bass preAmp, into PC, when playing with my new Pulsar Echorec FX clone)

i did NOT play GT for the last 35 years.
i was NEVER into electric guitars. Acoustic only. So, there´s that.....;)

I´m very picky on Wahs.
And i´m aware that technique IS a thing.

DIY patching in VCV Rack would be an option.

Your thought´s and recommendations ?

please enlighten me.

There are no really good wah plugins.
Kuassa I demoed, they are not really good,
especially if you want to get the wah funk
out of your guitar, you ll need a decent wah.
I had Crybaby wah pedal and no plugin
as good

ok, i bypassed the EQ. It´s better now.
Still, i´d like to have some baby sitting, hehe.
For example tipps how to setup the Kuassa Wah

and i liked that sound !

That´s what i am looking for.
there must be a trick. Maybe doable in VCV Rack ?

The reasons might be indeed the foot pedal you use, I use some Yamaha foot pedal, it's ok, but very different from Crybaby pedal (no offense to Yamaha, it's one of my fav brands for music gear and instruments in general).
Then plugins have a lack of that specific mojo a real wah has and also lack of a kind of special ingredient, I'd call it dirt, not that easy to explain.
I also miss some good wah sounds itb, I might buy me another Crybaby pedal, but
I am sceptical as to today's quality of hardware.

Most decent wahs I found in Helix native.

There is a free Wah from Nembrini Audio. It’s OK, though the low end seems off to me.

AmpliTube has some decent Wahs. The best Wah that I’ve found is actually the one that comes is Studio One’s PedalBoard plugin.

But perhaps we’ll finally see one from Audiority this year.

You have to play with the range and Q factor and it can get quite deep and agressive.
Happy New Year!

I tried WF 3607 out but I couldn’t get it to match my Crybaby. But it’s OK. Better than Nembrini.

I wonder about the one in Mercuriall Ampbox. It’s free as an effect pedal board now.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Thanks for feedback !....and the WF3607 Videos !
sounds decent for me on a first listen.
Probably not "the" Crybaby sound when listening with more critical ears.

A thought that strived me:
it might help to tailor the GT sound bevore of the Wah with an EQ.
=> pronounce the mids. Take out some bass and some high mids / highs.
Next thought just right now: that´s what a GP-Amp might do anyway ? right ? (post Wah)

I´ve not used any GT Amp (plugin) in my patch. I´ll change that later when i´m at it again.
( i have some Amp plugins from PA )

why do you need wah wah for?

aren't you happy with just distortion?

I recently picked up an Electro-Harmonix Cock Fight to see if having the “real deal” would make a difference (also because of its fuzz ability), and in the end it went right back. I got better results using Amplitube or Helix models. There’s a free version of Amplitube where you can just buy the models you want, but frankly I got Max 5 for $75, and it’s chock full of great stuff, wah pedals included.

Well, that’s your problem, right there. No guitar is going to sound great just going though a wah. The reason guitar amps are different than general purpose power amps is that they are designed to beef up and sculpt the tone coming from magnetic pickups. Without that tone sculpting stage, your results will sound weak.

Wah wah pedals use extremely primitive circuits. If you really can't find a plugin that you like, make your own in an EQ that smooths out parameter movement with a bandpass and automate/MIDI learn the frequency of the BP.

I got the Kuassa wah on launch... still very much satisfied with it.
I've had a couple hardware wahs in the past, now I'm perfectly fine with Kuassa's.
I don't obsess over it. It's a wah and it does the wah thing fine.
