Anybody here own either one of these, or the keyboard versions? I've had my eye on them for a while now for pianos/EPs and love the form factor and features (esp., the built-in USB support for controllers and audio/MIDI over USB), but they're pretty expensive to buy without trying and decent demos are few and far between. I think I've heard enough of the piano samples to be convinced that they sound great. But I'm just as interested, if not more interested, in the EPs, but I can't find very many demos showing off the range of the EPs. I'd love to hear from people who own/have actually used one.

I've had an SX7 for over 3 years. The Plantnium piano and EP sounds were top notch. The EP was on the level of the Crumar I compared it with.
If you're in Europe, there are used SX7s for sale on mercantinomusicale.com. I see you're in the US - I know PianoManChuck sells Dexibell stuff and might have the SX7 or 8.
Note that the Platnium samples take up a lot of space. You can fit one piano and the EP and a couple synths into the SX7. The SX8 has double the memory, but I think you'd only need it if you were using two or three platnium pianos and the EP at the same time.

I just noticed these replies, but thanks for posting them. I actually just bought an SX7 today and I'm pretty excited for it. Yeah, the one thing that made me hold off a bit on buying one was the limited storage, but I think I'll be OK. Those platinum pianos sound amazing, especially the Japan models!chtomch wrote: Thu Jul 06, 2023 1:09 pm I've had an SX7 for over 3 years. The Plantnium piano and EP sounds were top notch. Played an S10 at Sweetwater.
The key-bed felt great (as did the keys).
Doesn't have loads of sounds, but what's there sounds pretty good.
Unlike the Nords, it doesn't have a VA section (all sounds are sample based).
If you're primarily looking for Piano/E Piano, the Dexibell units are excellent.
From what I've heard, it's ex Roland employees behind Dexibell.

I'd love to have a Nord, but I'm constrained by space, and I really don't need the VA anyway with all of my other hardware and software. What I'm really looking for is a box that does nothing more than pianos/EPs (especially EPs!), so I think this is going to be perfect. I plan on deleting everything that isn't a piano or EP to free up the RAM, so I should be good. I've always wished for Lounge Lizard in a box, so I'm hoping this is it, and then some. Glad to hear your positive review of the sounds!Jim Roseberry wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 2:40 pm Unlike the Nords, it doesn't have a VA section (all sounds are sample based).

Watch some of the demo videos of the Dexibell units.
Great sounds... even beyond the Piano/E pianos.
Some of the basses sound fantastic for a keyboard.
If I didn't already have the Stage 4 and Montage M8x, I probably would have grabbed the S10 (while it was $1000 off).
IMO, One of the very best feeling key-beds and keys currently available.
I'm sure you'll love it.
