For plugin Wah I guess Scuffham S-Gear recently added the Wah Thing which some people seem to really like from what I’ve read. It has a parallel mode option which I guess mixes a dry signal with the Wah:

So, i just demo-ed it on the quick. created a quick patch, out of my kuassa wah patch, played it for 10 minutes and just bought the U530 for $30 ( not part of the sale). Even on that quick patch, i found it a little better on the bass/low strings side of the things vs. my Kuassa Wah patch.
While my kuassa patch took me some time, i had this up and running in quasi no time.
I think, that i still just barely understand the Kuassa. With this crybaby in soft, there is nothing to understand. It just works, haha.
Curvatures are not an issue for me, since i patch mostly in GigPerformer, where i can adjust the midi CC curvatures. (Which IS a thing !)
The reviews are overly glowing for this Ampbox thing ! Not sure if it´ß "that" good ? But i really like it. The hwole thing took me no time to setup.
Tested the reverb and the EQ too.
I must say, with this one is it doable to just use this "ampbox" and nothing else.
so, i also installed the standalone, which i rarely do. ( since i really use *everything* within GP)
I might buy the Reaxis preamp too. $36 . Even if it´s not on sale. This prices for the preAmps do look fair to me.
Thanks for that tipp !
i think this will become very useful.
.....need to leave now. Can check again tonight

on another note:
it turned out that my Moog footpedal ( thru a pedal to midi converter) was not doing the full swing.
it played no role with the Kuassa, but with my DIY- Wah attempt it did.
Switched over to my Yamaha pedal. Which works.
My attempts to patch a Wah with the FF-Volcano3 were not fruitful !
It seems, thats not so easy to do a Wah as one might think.
And this was definitly my 2nd if not 3rd attempt with the Volcano3

The Wah in Ampbox is pretty good. It's very similar to the Wah in Studio One's Pedalboard. But I really do not like Ampbox environment. I'd buy Wah 535Q as a standalone plugin, but if I'm going to be locked in an all-in-one environment just to use a wah, I'd rather just stick to AmpliTube.

The amp, power amp, and cab can be disabled and saved as a preset though. With the latest version of Ampbox, they will all disappear from the GUI. This way, it's just like a standalone pedal board plugin.jamcat wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:46 am The Wah in Ampbox is pretty good. It's very similar to the Wah in Studio One's Pedalboard. Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here.

Yes, I recognise that. However, the pedal UIs are quite small and not individually resizable, while the Ampbox UI is quite large, and reducing its size reduces the size of the pedals. It is just poorly laid out in general, and looks like '90s freeware.poonna wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:57 amThe amp, power amp, and cab can be disabled and saved as a preset though. And speaking of that, I can't find what the demo limitations are. The Wah 535Q is "free" in AmpBox, but it seems like AmpBox itself is not.

Since I own a license, I can't verify whether it's really free, but they sent out this message in the email announcing Ampbox 1.3.1 update on December 26th.jamcat wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 9:18 am And speaking of that, I can't find what the demo limitations are. They don't seem to have updated their website to reflect this yet though.Mercuriall Audio wrote: NEW FEATURES:

the limitation is: "silence" ....every few seconds.jamcat wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 9:18 am And speaking of that, I can't find what the demo limitations are.
The gaps are not too long. Quite short. But ok for a start.
What the demo limitations are, is visible on their page.
Click any of the mercuriAll product links. Then there is that green "buy" button below the short overview text. Besides is the download button, besides is in small orange font the demo note
there is a Wah 535Q plugin ?
( i saw the freeware one, in a link above. i prefer to use as little freeware as possible, since i´m on mac, with ever changing OSes)
i have something IK-multimedia, got then a freebe, and it just installed their whole catalogue.jamcat wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:46 am ..... but if I'm going to be locked in an all-in-one environment just to use a wah, I'd rather just stick to AmpliTube.
Donne ! Ciao IK-multimedia, nolonger interested. YMMV
well, i must say, it looks like i really like it.
i spent $30 bucks. What i got out, putting in very little time, saved me alots of time allready. and my patch looks now way way more simple.
I load my plugins anyway within gigPerformer and NOT in any DAW.
So my whole approach, workflow and experienece is anyway way different vs. dealing within DAWs.
I´ve not spent much time with ampbox so far.
I just took my old Kuassa Wah patch, which was fully loaded with additional EQs and what not,
i just deleted that whole bunch, loaded Ampbox, and had within minutes a better sound.
(both patches are btw, just one mouseclick away from each other, since i deal in GP )
It´s great ! i like it !
feels right now, like very well spent $30. really
in my early twens, when i was into guitar playing (acoustics),
i´d had to spend a fortune to get such a sound out.
That´s the context, from where i´m looking at it right now.
The guitar was a B-Stock harley Benton for 135.-
A AS-mac or a AS macbook is here allready, a low latency AI too, the guitar was 135.- , now add those $30 for ampbox, and your up and running !
I mean, how insanely good is that ? add the midi-able footpedal !
Nothing else needed. IT´S INSANE !
IT´S JUST F.CKING AWESOME !! .....looking at it that way
