My honest thinking is that this synh would probably be a no-brainer at $39 or so. It’s a very, very old soft synth, with a meh but recognizable sound (and this always brings something to a mix), and it should never be priced anywhere near the flagship products that came after and offer way more for the same price or even lower. For this price you can get one (or two if you wait) modern emulation everybody’s talking about or a modern powerhouse with granular and resampling and oscillators galore.
I’ll buy Discovery Pro when it’s priced like it should be : a legacy software.
At the moment I can buy whatever I want. And I don’t buy Discovery Pro, simply because of its price tag. This synth might find its use in my colllection, I remember liking some of the presets, but the price is simply crazy for what you get. I hope for you that most users don’t think just like me.

I must be stupid but after demoing V8 vs 7.9 copying midi from track to track I couldn’t hear any difference at all between the two versions.
