The last time I compared a bunch of these, Waves’ Smack Attack came out on top. It’s much more natural sounding than most of the other to my ear. I use it in every tune, and it always sounds good

BTW - reaction to post above: I like Analog Obsession plugins, but TRAX and few others like Sweetvoice (?) and Sweetdrum (?)... I don't know how to use, but can not tweak to sound I'd like. 🤷🏼‍♂️😏
When I was trying out different transient shapers, I found that some of them were better suited for some sounds than others. Out of all of the ones I tried, TRAX was by far the most subtle; it's not uncommon to fully crank the attack up and sustain down, and even then, you're often getting what feels like 5% of how far other transient shapers can go. But I think sometimes there's a use for that.

I think a reason why SPL Transient Designer is so popular is that it's the one that sounded good on everything. Its range is just one massive sweet spot.

molecularbytes atomictransient for me - a lot of control https://www.molecularbytes.com/mbcms/in ... ctransient

kilohearts transient shaper is really good and has nice visual feedback

I mainly use Auburn Sounds "Couture" (free version), with positive results. Kilohearts "Transient Shaper" is quite good either.

Surprised Sonnox Envolution hasn't been mentioned. The hold control is really useful for creating a bigger, more solid transient instead of the snappy, clicky ones you get on other TS plugins (it can do that as well though if that's what you like)
That in combination with the frequency targeting options make it an incredibly customisable transient shaper. The "Diff" mode can be fun too

Didn't know that there are so many. So which one is the best then?

Btw, sometimes is better to use transient plugins, instead of a hard clipper (on a single channel of course).

I have this one. It has many options. The only thing that I didn't like is that it increases the low end of the material when you decrease the attack.

JMG (United Plugins) Nanopulse is really good.

Tons of options.
