it loads fine on Logic Pro (audiounits) and Ableton (VST3) but can't find any preset. Anyone else with same issues? I've sent a ticket to support relating this issue already.

Seems like there's no way to mark favorites.
I had to play in the lower octave(s) on my keyboard to make (some) patch(es) sound normal.
Haven't found a way to adjust octaves.

the patches show up fine here.Xryz wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 11:47 pm it loads fine on Logic Pro (audiounits) and Ableton (VST3) but can't find any preset. Anyone else with same issues? I've sent a ticket to support relating this issue already.
in case it's a permissions issue, the patches get put into a couple of folders inside /library/audio/presets/OM
755 with root as owner and wheel as group.
it took a while to track down because for some reason the plugin creates /library/audio/presets/outersect/modeler as well...and doesn't use it so that's empty.

I had the same problem. I'm using Tracktion Waveform 12.5 on a Windows 10 computer. I also installed Modeler via the Tracktion download manager. To fix it, I manually relocated the location of the VST3 plugin and changed a few folders.axxa wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 10:38 pm the new modeler won't load. Anyone know why? Installed via the tracktion installer and everything looks to be fine. It shows up in the plugins and license checks are all valid. Attempts to pull it into the track result in message that the plugin is not found (even though it says 'OM' at the top r.h. of the DAW when mouse hovers over the plugin instance (by the volume bay). So it seems to register in all ways except that it will not come up and an error mssg. says 'plugin not found'.
Inside my VST3 folder, there was a "OM.vst3" folder. Inside that, were a few different subfolders. Buried a couple folders inside that, was the actual "OM.vst3" plugin file.
First, I renamed the "OM.vst3" folder to simply "OM" — mostly because I don't like folder names with periods in them.
Then, I moved the "OM.vst3" plugin file to this newly renamed "OM" folder.
One of the subfolders was named "Resources". I made sure that subfolder was also moved to the "OM" folder. (Inside the Resources folder is a single file, named "moduleinfo.json".)
When I finished moving and renaming things, I deleted an empty folder or two, to tidy things up.
I used the "Settings / Plugins" menu of Tracktion to remove any deleted plugins from my plugin list, which got rid of the old mention of Modeler. I think Tracktion detected the new location of Modeler automatically without me doing anything, but if that doesn't happen for you, just scan your VST3 folder for new plugins. Tracktion should find Modeler in its new location. At this point, it should work — at least, it did for me.

Agreed. Needs a way to mark favorites.Musical Gym wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 7:18 am Seems like there's no way to mark favorites.

Noticed that Transpose goes +/- 4 octaves.

From the developer:
"It's about 90% MPE compatible. I use it regularly with the Linnstrument in MPE mode.
To connect to an MPE controller:
1. set the number of voices to 1 on the sound
2. make sure the bend range of the sound matches the bend range of your controller.
You should be able to play the sounds from your MPE controller.
It will be polyphonic, and you will have X,Y,Z axis control.
The modeler does not YET support MPE GLOBAL controllers,
so if your MPE controller has a bunch of global knobs on it, those won't work right (yet)."
But someone on VI Control is saying they couldn't get this to work in Logic X or Ableton: "Tickling a few settings in the DAW now means the channels receive PB, but don't distinguish between them so the most recent note controls which PB channel is recognised across all of them. Stacking instances and channelising is the only reliable method for doing MPE right now." https://vi-control.net/community/thread ... 15/page-19
Can anyone confirm? Particularly for Live 11?

Seems like they were rushing to get this out a few weeks before Dawesome releases their synth Myth (which incorporates some physical modeling, though I'm not sure about the details) during NAMM and so didn't adequately beta test. Especially unfortunate since the trial only lasts 7 days... maybe they'll extend it?

myth looks to have more in common with Plasmonic or kaivo - a wavetable synth that does organic sounds - than full-on PM.

I receive an answer from the developer for a fix for this issue. The installation copied the files to the system library but the plugin (MAC) needs the presets to be in the user library.Xryz wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 11:47 pm it loads fine on Logic Pro (audiounits) and Ableton (VST3) but can't find any preset. I copied the contents from /Library/Audio/Presets/OM to /Users/USERNAME/Library/Audio/Presets/OM and everything works now.
It should be fixed in an update (I hope)
Anyways, I am liking the plugin. Agreed with some critics here but nothing that I cannot enjoy making sounds and I like the plugin structure and flexibility on modulations.

This looks cool and the videos sound great. I think it is a try before I buy thing.
In general, I pretty much get everything Tracktion has on offer. It just takes a while.
