Hi everybody,

I would like to know if the .PEAK and .GPK files are like .PK that save Cool Edit (Adobe Audition) with the samples. What I'd like to know really is if I can delete this files without problems. I noticed that are linked to .WAV and .AIFF files but are they really important? Where do they come from?

Thanks in advanced!

Cheers

Yes, sounds like peak files. They should not take up much space (relative to the recordings themselves!)

These files speed up the time needed to "visualise" the sound. Just try with one, rename it for safety. Figure out which programs create them. Maybe there is an option somewhere in the program(s) you are using so you can deactivate this. The trade-off is that it will take longer for files to load.
