I like the concept of this synth and I will buy it when it has had a little more time to bake

What version are you using guys ? Me it's 1.13 now, in standalone. He told me mono multi mode with 1 Voice each should work after 1.11. Here, it's working, I mean I can make chords even with a Voice count set to 1, Outersect using several MIDI channels as "announced" but it's not MPE. I MIDI learned a param, and the param plays the last value played i.e each not does NOT have each one value. And you guys ? Maybe I missed something ?Ou_Tis wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:33 pm From the developer:
"It's about 90% MPE compatible. I use it regularly with the Linnstrument in MPE mode.
To connect to an MPE controller:
1. set the number of voices to 1 on the sound
2. make sure the bend range of the sound matches the bend range of your controller.
You should be able to play the sounds from your MPE controller.
It will be polyphonic, and you will have X,Y,Z axis control.
The modeler does not YET support MPE GLOBAL controllers,
so if your MPE controller has a bunch of global knobs on it, those won't work right (yet)."
But someone on VI Control is saying they couldn't get this to work in Logic X or Ableton: "Tickling a few settings in the DAW now means the channels receive PB, but don't distinguish between them so the most recent note controls which PB channel is recognised across all of them. Stacking instances and channelising is the only reliable method for doing MPE right now." https://vi-control.net/community/thread ... 15/page-19
Can anyone confirm? Particularly for Live 11?

Tried it. Wanted to dig it. Don’t yet. Good first effort but needs some time to get ironed out.

Finally installed the demo last night. Seven day demo? Sometimes it takes me that long just to open and start testing a demo.
Early impressions:
GUI is a bit quirky but i'm more audio than visual oriented so it's not a big deal (hours of use might make my brain hurt a bit, or get used to it).
I like two things- the bowing and the feedback. The whole excitation section is very flexible and has already led to some interesting sounds (pick + reed + growl, with distortion and feedback). Things i'd like to have: knobs to control LFO Rate, ENV for LFO or at least a delay, Bandwidth controls on the parametric EQ (BODY). Maybe i'm just not finding these?
I think it's a good start. Anyone else try it in the past 10 days?

Sounds good to me (although i'm just on a pair of decent cans right now, wish i had my awesome system and room i had 10 years ago, also wish i had my big amp stacks to run it through).Ploki wrote: Thu Jan 18, 2024 12:36 pm demoed it.
GUI is sloppy, UX is poor, sound is okay.
Nothing i haven't heard or gotten from i.e. TripleCheese, Sculpture or Sakura. Hoped for more.
oh well
I don't have access to Sculpture or Sakura, i like Triple Cheese, this is more flexible).
What exactly did you hope for?

I didn't really criticise the sound, it's okay.CrystalWizard wrote: Sun Jan 28, 2024 7:39 am

idk, something. At least a more refined experience, for 129$.
Chromaphone3 is currently on sale for 99$.
Physical Audio Modus is 99$.
Sculpture is 2 decades old and has better UX somehow.
look at this: the alignment issues, the 5 different corner styles in 100x100 area.
It's just sloppy. There are freebies with a more refined UX.
There's more inspiring ways to interact with physical models than a field of knobs.
you can make a colorful GUI without it being way too busy and fatiguing.
I get it. it's about the sound. Except the GUI is your point of interaction with the sound. How it behaves and feels affects the experience

I agree that the GUI needs an upgrade, it seems way rushed.
I really like Chromophone, it's one of my favorite and most used synths. Sounds amazing. The GUI is ok, much cleaner than this. Modeler is more flexible (in the exciter system). I also have Kaivo which is fantastic in it's unique way.
I'm geniunely curious what a more inspiring GUI would look like. I think controllers and GUIs are an area needs some real advances to keep up with the capabilities of synths.
off topic-i'm considering building or modifrying a new midi/osc controller.

Tried today, first impression from UI should assume that now will begin wild cpu eating lol, hmm but nope, pretty low (even with big poly\release), that surprisingly for such kind of stuff (
AAS ). There is really feeling that some well coding. Ok gone to grablist.
As some request perhaps, would be interesting to see woodwinds abilities\patches here.

Is there a changelog of current updates somewhere on the internet?
I'm considering buying Outersect Modeler as soon as it gets an live-AUDIO IN as exciter-source! But i can't see any changelog/update official status page, where i could follow its development? Thanks for any hint

Just FYI, 77 for now (with code SPD2024)
Grabbed, after another trialing. Additionally i liked how here can make percussive\short timbres, this is separate fun.
UPD Another thing that it seems to me would be good, this is ability to drive note from modulation, from scratch i mean, for instant drone genre. Although there is already ability to achieve timeless release (that cool undoubtedly), but only after first pressed note.
Else little req - lfo phase mod.
Else ability to disable built in limiter. Yes i understand that it can be dangerous, but just as option. Sometimes have feeling that limiting has impact to sound not in a good way. (The same behavior\request relevant for AAS phys.mod plugs unfortunately). IMO builtin limiting need always make optional.

Hard not to have mixed feelings. Interface is a struggle (and yes, fugli), but might be the most versatile physical modeler synth out there.jens wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2024 9:05 pm Still going for the "fugliest plugin of all time"-award over there @Tracktion HQ, areint't they?![]()
