Yup, Ableton has some cool innovations in Live 12, it's a step up for Live (with MPE PUSH 3) so I am looking forward to seeing Bitwigs response. I suspect 5.2 and Live 12 will land about the same time and no doubt fighting for coverage! Maybe its finally time for Bitwig to drop the 'Network Sharing' feature they have been holding back since it was announced in V1xbitz wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 12:56 pm Just go for it Bitwig, there's again something to draw inspiration from

For Bitwig to catch-up with Ableton Pianoroll is quite impossible due to the unstoppable M4L integrated Pianoroll devices avalanche coming...SLiC wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 1:58 pmYup, Ableton has some cool innovations in Live 12, it's a step up for Live (with MPE PUSH 3) so I am looking forward to seeing Bitwigs response. Straight from the Studio onto the festival or Clubstage. Like homeoffice for Live Artists.

It still feels like a slot machine to me: you keep spinning until it pays off, and then some DAW (e.g., FL Studio) will use AI to turn it into a perfect song by pushing a buttonliquidsound wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 5:21 pmFor Bitwig to catch-up with Ableton Pianoroll is quite impossible due to the unstoppable M4L integrated Pianoroll devices avalanche coming...SLiC wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 1:58 pmYup, Ableton has some cool innovations in Live 12, it's a step up for Live (with MPE PUSH 3) so I am looking forward to seeing Bitwigs response. btw. I've been checking out how Bitwig handles each device when importing an Ableton project, and the saddest thing is the absence of DrumBus
I know this one viewtopic.php?t=493932 but nah "somewhat similar"

There's plenty of interesting new features in Live 12. It's an excellent update for Live users. I'm glad for Live users and have no envy about it. Bitwig fits my needs and interests better.
I also have no interest in an avalanche of new stuff. I prefer a slower pace and just manage to keep up with Bitwig updates every 4-5 months or so. More than that would only end up being detrimental for me.
Plus, the new features in the Live piano roll, while useful additions, still don't match what I can do with Bitwig's Note FX in terms of realtime control and playability. In that regard, Live is still far behind and is unlikely to catch up.
If all the DAW's keep developing in positive ways, that is good for everyone and pick the one or ones you like to use. Bazille is my favorite synth and being able to use Bitwig's polyphonic modulation system with the CLAP version of Bazille matters more to me than all the new features of Live 12 and every M4L device put together.

Fortunately you are part of a small minority. Those new Pianoroll feature in Ableton are for the majority of users.
As long as you are happy with less, no problem here

btw a Hungarian guy who has been using AbletonL for about 15 years put together the same project (more audio than MIDI, operators under Bitwig was a big help) in Bitwig four times faster after using it for only 3 months... that was convincing ... unfortunately there is no video.

It's true... only a minority of people play in their midi parts... most people are stuck dinking around with the mouse in the piano rollliquidsound wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 7:37 pm

No video... I see = BS
BTW, I know people using their tools for a long time and still missing depth like that guy, that is leaving Ableton for Bitwig, had no idea how to carry the Comping around with the original Takes Lanes...
I mean WTF! Just save the original Comp as a Clip and use it anywhere you like and the Takes Lanes are there with it like BWS
The only difference is that you can use the Comp Clip in the Launcer in BW but that's a no a big deal at all.
Just do your work in the Arranger (which is more practical and open to insane manipulations not possible in BWS) and then consolidate to Scene.
People with a YouTube channel will do anything to get traffic. That guy will stay with Ableton until death set them apart
