I don t - I use Reaper - but I could and would if I owned something that made it easier than Reaper.VOODOO U wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 1:15 am Do any of you write exclusively using various VST sequencers within a modular environment IE Bidule?
I'm thinking of doing this for a change of pace. It's too bad there aren't more options for stripped down modular hosts.
Recommend me a sequencer vst

Were you unhappy with the sound quality of the synths that made you stop using iOS?pdxindy wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 5:05 am explored it a bit in iOS too with AUM and Drambo plus a few other tools.
That Drambo actually looks pretty good for an iOS app.
I swore to myself I'd never go back to Apple and especially steer clear of iOS apps but admittedly there are some apps that are looking pretty sharp.
I do like the concept of most every iOS music app being akin to a modular component you can connect all together using, say, audiobus if I'm understanding how everything works.
Right. I use Reaper as well. There is a little trick that could make things more pleasant and that's creating custom tool bars where clicking an icon loads a track template. So depending what you need for a song or performance you can load it quickly with MIDI or keystrokes.neverbefore wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 6:23 am I don t - I use Reaper - but I could and would if I owned something that made it easier than Reaper.
But yeah, ideally something like Bidule, or Kushview Element works best.
I just found out VCV rack loads VSTs which would be perfect if it didn't require the computer to be online.

Drambo and AUM are great... so is GarageBand
it's just too much for me to add another platform since I already have a regular computer and hardware setup.

You just described my setup/method. I find Bidule ideal for this.VOODOO U wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 1:15 am Do any of you write exclusively using various VST sequencers within a modular environment IE Bidule?

https://www.bespokesynth.com/ as well, although the UI takes some learning.

Architect is still in beta after more than 5 years now.koalaboy wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 2:58 pm https://www.bespokesynth.com/ as well, although the UI takes some learning.

I paid over $100 for it, I recommend not to, and wait and see if it’s ever released. It could be good, not worth my investment though.
The old Numerology still holds up well feature wise.

That's true, but it has a very unrestricted demo so you can fully test before buying, and Colin at Loomer is a great independent developer. You should never buy any software in the hope it does what you want 'in the future'.simmo75 wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 5:29 pm Architect is still in beta after more than 5 years now.

I bought the beta over 5 years ago, under the impression it would be finished, lolkoalaboy wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 5:32 pmThat's true, but it has a very unrestricted demo so you can fully test before buying, and Colin at Loomer is a great independent developer. My impression of his development is flakey, as proven by Architect still being in beta.

^^^

- viewtopic.php?p=8832080#p8832080Still getting on with getting on with it, but I have been unfortunately had the last week-and-a-bit entirely derailed by what is (probably) the new strain of Covid: it absolutely floored me. I'm on the up now, but obviously got a lot of catch up on.

But 5 years of beta is ridiculous.

The people that use the 5 year old beta Architect seem to love it.
One user "Thank you Colin for the work of wonder that is Architect"
Bidule has been version .9xxx for well over 10 years.
Have not seen anyone complain.
Yes I have also made fun of the beta.
