Hi guys,

My Studio One seems to have dropped mioXM (midi interface) inputs. While they show up as options for connecting my WX5, DrumKat and foot pedals, when configured, there is no throughput (the mioXM shows midi data reaching it must fine, however.)

Any ideas?

Along the same line, my erae touch shows up as an option for a controller, but there is no midi throughput there either (MPE or otherwise.)

For a reference point, all works as it should in Bitwig. Any suggestions are very appreciated.

I haven't the slightest idea but if you have a midi sax and use erae touch we should be friends

Did you check midi monitor in StudioOne?
- a din midi symbol bottom left it was in v4.x

..so data actually reach StudioOne!

Did you run this midi interface at all in StudioOne before?
- you said seems to have dropped

Since working in Bitwig, it must be config of StudioOne somehow.
- all midi input must be keyboard config
- and only use the input side in config

I have a IConnecitivy Mio2, and had to configure that quite a bit with their application to get working.
- but again, if config works in Bitwig that should be alright

You might want to look at Davidson Audio and Multimedia's Lyrihorn 1 and Lyrihorn 2. They are based on the Lyricon 1 and 2 respectively, are very inexpensive ($30 each US) and do a very admirable emulating the instruments (I especially can vouch for the Lyrihorn 2 as I owned one.) Each is aimed straight at wind driver players for its target audience.

We wind synthesis devotees need to stick together. :D

Thanks so much for the note; it turns out it was a (very) stupid error on my part. I had configured the instruments as "control surfaces" rather than keyboards. Major "doh!" (Thanks to Lucas for reminding me of this.) But, having said that, I did get Erae Touch to work with Studio One (apparently rarely done; it seems most give up on this from what I can tell.) There is one caveat in this: A while back, I noted that Studio One 6, when using Roli controllers, reverted back to the origianl pitch struck when fingers were lifted on patches with long release envelope segments. While Presonus straightened out this issue with Roli keyboards, for some reason the problem remains with the Erae Touch. As a control, all works as it should in Bitwig.

Ohh, I have their WindSynth but didn't know about the new Lyrihorn, so thank you! I use a roland ae-30
