... well dang.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

So I didn’t have Yamaha releasing some kind of TE OP-Z style groovebox on my 2024 bingo card…
Pushing out a highly AWM preset-centric product now just seems a spectacularly odd move. I would love to know if they do any market research.

Actually just watched something else that says it has FM and you can edit the operators (there’s a separate app) so maybe not completely pointless.
The ‘visualizer’ app that effects video based on the audio looks so stupid I kind of like it.

So, Yamaha is the new Behringer? I’m ok with that.
I’m seeing a $399 price, which I’m sure will give TE some serious competition.

I assume it has probability per step (if I am reading the manual correctly) so it may be a nice ambient machine.

Well they did have those little minikey Reface devices so it’s not completely out of their wheelhouse just odd how it arrived fully formed with no preamble.

I really like the Seqtrak, but won’t pick one up. If I was more mobile, I’d get one. It’s pretty feature packed, which would be a good thing for most, but too many features for me considering the limited use it’d get here.
I sold off OPZ and OP1 last year. TE mentioned they’re looking at releasing a OPZ field, but who knows when or what features are included or what astronomical price they’ll assign to it.
Video features look fun, but I barely touched those on OPZ.

Yeah I’m not fussed about a mobile groovebox either. I think if I was after a groovebox, and the Digitakt scratches most of those itches anyway, it would be an MPC One or MC 707.

That does look kind of cool. A great thing for your mate to buy, so you can play with it then give it back.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:54 am So I didn’t have Yamaha releasing some kind of TE OP-Z style groovebox on my 2024 bingo card…

Not sure what you mean about AWM though.

I've googled and discovered Advanced Wave Memory but your version sounds less messy.vurt wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:34 pmambient wank machine maybe?Double Tap wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:33 pmThat does look kind of cool. Thinking really hard about an Auza Wave Packets. I haven't been using my Teletype that much lately, with Bitwig Grid integration pretty much taking over its roles. So that means I might have some space to play with, and while I don't really need anything, something a bit weird that does both modulation and audio and is apparently very well loved by the few people who have one might fit the bill.
