Anyone know the VST for this (synth) Flute and electronic loop?

I love the soundtrack for Plants vs. Zombies, specifically the Garden Warfare and Neighborville series. There's some instrument sounds/patches I'd like to use in my own music, inspired by this work. I was hoping if anyone recognizes the VST's these sounds originate from:
The synth pan flute/ocarina in this song:
And the electronic percussion loop + "FM bell" https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zuzaVc ... sp=sharing
other people have found presets used in PvZ, in AIR Xpand2, Vacuum, and Structure Free. Unfortunately these sounds don't seem to be included in those VST's (from what a friend who has those plugins checked)
After a lil google research, some candidates in my mind for VST's which couldve been used are: Diva, Zebra, Arturia, Sylenth, and/or Serum.
The only 3rd party synth I own is Massive, I checked that, sadly isn't it.
TYSM to anyone who can help out with recognizing these patch sounds!!

I think it's closer to a "pan flute" from one of the many late 80s synths.
Maybe check out the Korg M1 or a DX clone. Zebra can definitely get you something like it if not nail it to your tastes. Also, Arturia is a company, not a synth in itself. So that would need to be a little more specific.

That chirpy attack of that flute sounds like FM synth to me, and since I used to use Dexed a lot for wind sounds I tried to find the preset in question. I think I found it.
Here's a quick demo of the first few seconds of that song I just whipped up. Sounds pretty close? I'm sure you can get it much closer with more time.

I used the free Dexed for the sound, and the reverb is the free Toneboosters v3 Reverb. I'll also upload the .fxp and .syx patch itself as an attachment so you can load it into Dexed yourself. The fxp can be loaded using your DAW, whilst the syx you can place into the "Cartridges" folder and load it from Dexed itself.

Glad to help! I think Dexed (well, the DX7) is pretty overlooked nowadays when it comes to making interesting flute and wind sounds.thepawg69 wrote: Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:36 pm Oh shoot! That's definitely very close! TYVM, I'll check it out

I think the Dexed page also comes with a large downloadable archive of presets which is worth a look. You might find lots more sounds in there that were used in the soundtrack.

Oh yeah, one question: Is the Panflute preset you gave part of the Dexed factory soundset? Or did you entirely create that preset yourself?ChristopherWD wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 10:10 pm That chirpy attack of that flute sounds like FM synth to me, and since I used to use Dexed a lot for wind sounds I tried to find the preset in question. Yeah, I definitely didn't make that preset myself. Programming the DX7 is something I struggle with and it always turns to noise...thepawg69 wrote: Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:37 pm Oh yeah, one question: Is the Panflute preset you gave part of the Dexed factory soundset? It's also interesting that it actually was a Yamaha preset, I guess it must have floated around since I found it on one of the many "FLUTE" banks in the archive.
I guess that's to be expected from such a large archive... well, that and presets that burst sudden loud noises... definitely keep the volume lower when skimming through that archive...

There is an even larger archive called AllTheWeb which is ridiculously disorganized. But there is one folder where there are various instruments categorized so there's A LOT there to go through.
<list your stupid gear here>
