Actually, I wish Behringer would offer as many colours for their other synths. It's one of the best innovations in decades and I thank Behringer for it - I'd have something of every colour. A true rainbow studio where I could love myself properly...(not sure that came out as I intended) :scared:

Although...I haven't got anything proper acid yellow yet, so maybe a yellow MO (only to brighten the place up y'know). My TD3 is blue, so put that with a yellow MO and if I drink enough rum, next to each other would make a blurry green acid machine. :drunk:
Never gonna sell mine, in yellow, as it should be. I wouldn't want to be caught out in the rain if B decides to stop making them.

I find it weird how the prices vary so much between the different colours... right now the black one is £85 on Amazon, silver £99, yellow £109 but the blue one is £130. A couple of months ago they had far more colours than that and no consistency whatsoever.

I'd also like a collection of synths in a wide variety of colors. I really appreciate those manufacturers that offer different color options for their gear! That includes key beds that are available in alternative color schemes.

I've seen electric guitars in all sorts of radical colors, finishes, materials, and shapes. In comparison, why do synths tend to be so conservative and similar in style to each other?

I think the silver MO looks far better than the basic TD-3 in silver, and I might consider getting a silver MO if the price were right, but I can't imagine myself ever getting a basic TD-3 in sliver. I just think they look so bland and boring. If I ever get a TD-3, it will definitely be one of the other colors, and probably one of the transparent colors.

I suspect algorithm driven dynamic pricing based on stock levels and recent sales rate. I wonder if it’s Amazon that collects the difference in profit which is pretty huge given that the base price for each colour must be very similar.

Post

Amazon prices can change depending on which particular Amazon partner is fulfilling the order.

Are you safe?

Yeah, summat like that. Was amused that black is currently one of the cheapest, it was one of the more expensive ones just before Christmas, when transparent purple or something like that was the cheap one.

It's the same with the RD6. It's why I had purple at first before I sent it back. Fortunately for me, the much nicer green dropped a bit a few months back for even less than I originally paid for the purple.

I was thinking of getting Xena by Michigan Synth Works (which is a repackaged Ambika), but maybe I'll save up for a Modwave desktop instead.

A new toilet, I can't say that I haven't made plenty of music in the old one, I have, but it's time for a refresh.
