Does SM3 provide already a way of parameters automation from DAW?
In the Reaper I can see macros and a lot of unnamed parameters. TBH I don't know how directly access params. Reaper doesn't report ie Filter cutoff as last touched param.
I tried to use macros, but found that those stop working after a while (DAW restart is needed). The macro knob still reacts on automation but it stops reflecting its changes to the assigned parameter - I already reported it to the bug's sheet. I'm looking for another way of automation if exists already, before fixing macros.

There are 64 Host parameters in SynthMaster 3maxym.srpl wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 10:23 am Does SM3 provide already a way of parameters automation from DAW?

The first 8 are macro knobs
The next 8 are 4 xy pads
The remaining 48 are user assignable, could be different for each preset
You can edit the names of those user assigned host parameters:

I have been experiencing some strange behaviors when using SM3 in VSTHost (my host of choice to try virtual instruments).
SM3 doesn't respond to MIDI in (although it is receiving, apparently).
When I try to uninstantiate it, it causes a crash in VSTHost and the host freezes, forcing me to close it though the OS.
In REAPER and Cubase, so far, I have been able to work with it, more or less, but I usually don't test much in these, more in VSTHost.

Thank you. I knew those unnamed params existed but didn't know how to use them in the Reaper.
After assigning them to the synth param, those are controllable from Reaper. But the DAW still sees the initial name: "Unassigned". I suppose it's not expected behavior. I'm using VST3

It is expected behavior, as the DAW grabs the names before you load a preset. That is also the reason why modular instruments in general cannot deliver useful names. I don’t know if CLAP is different in that regard…
The only solution is, to make all existing parameters automatable, which would be not bad, even if its 1000… In Bitwig I can search for names and as soon I touch a parameter its presented as well…

Are you running build 14630 ? Because I remember I fixed the syncing names issue in that one. I just tried adding a new host parameter and Reaper recognized:maxym.srpl wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 9:00 pm Thank you. I knew those unnamed params existed but didn't know how to use them in the Reaper.

In VST3 there is a refresh mechanism. you can notify the host that the parameter names have changed.Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Jan 20, 2024 6:21 am It is expected behavior, as the DAW grabs the names before you load a preset. Good to know, that would open also modulars for better workflow automation…kv331 wrote: Sat Jan 20, 2024 7:37 amIn VST3 there is a refresh mechanism. you can notify the host that the parameter names have changed.Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Jan 20, 2024 6:21 am It is expected behavior, as the DAW grabs the names before you load a preset. And this refresh doesn't work in my Reaper v7.09.

Just fixed this one. Getting the text color and window background color from the operating system was the solution. In dark mode, those colors change.teilo wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 11:22 pm The tooltips on Rev 14628 on Mac, are not readable. Just fixed this one, thanks for the bug report. Will be in the next build.fmr wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 10:45 am I have been experiencing some strange behaviors when using SM3 in VSTHost (my host of choice to try virtual instruments).

I am currently working on loading SM2 presets. Once I am done with it, will release the next update. It is a huge task.
