I used Pigments 4, Massive X and VPS-Avenger 1, Hybrid 3, Transfuser 2, Sektor to create the soundtracks of my first two games that I will release on Steam.
I am going to add UVI Falcon 3, Synthmaster 3 and KarmaFX Synth Modular 2 for creating the soundtracks of the next two games I plan to make immediately after.
Having tracks made with various synths allows to create some unique sounds.

"three new “exploration” sound expansion banks (beats, liquid, & expression) in the built-in Pigments sound store, each with 150 MPE-focused presets"
So we'd have to pay extra for those. The Arturia expansion packs site won't load so I haven't figured out a way to see how much they cost---anyone know? Do any of the new factory presets have MPE set up?...
Is the sequence generator any good? Does it use neural network based generative AI (I'd guess not)?
Is there a playthrough of all the new factory presets and preset packs anywhere? Didn't spot one on Youtube (so far). Easy way to get a bunch of views if anyone's up to it....
Do the UI improvements relate to MPE at all? I'd guess not since I didn't see it mentioned.

I paid a very reasonable $20 for the three exploration sound banks. Cant download em though as the website is now toast.Ou_Tis wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 6:31 pm "three new “exploration” sound expansion banks (beats, liquid, & expression) in the built-in Pigments sound store, each with 150 MPE-focused presets"

Apparently they're selling the crossgrade (from other Arturia products, including freebies I think) for Pigments 5 + Exploration sound banks bundle for $69. I'd assume they don't let us demo the expansions (by playing them ourselves), but do the factory presets include any MPE presets with Y axis already set up?tactile_coast wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 6:37 pmI paid a very reasonable $20 for the three exploration sound banks. Anyone know if this is a free update across the board, or is it free based on your past purchases like they do with their normal discounts?
I.e. some ppl get it free, some get it for $49, some for $99 which is what I’m seeing my update price is.
I can’t log in now because they’re probably getting slammed but was able to this AM and saw the upgrade price.
Guess they could have still been doing stuff and when I can log in again it might be free, fingers crossed lol.

Cool, maybe I saw the bundle Ou_Tis mentioned or something. I’ll look when their site starts responding again.

all opinion (and rooted in the kind of music we make). i use MX regularly, but sold my pigments 4 license... never got into it. yet one of my collabs swears by it. and... who cares?chk071 wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 5:08 pmI disagree.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 5:07 pmSo strange. I hate Massive X for precisely this reason, but think Pigments sounds waaay better.Korg Supporter wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 4:15 pm I wanted to love it, but it sounds too sterile for me.

meanwhile, good to see development on this (while MX seems stuck-in-time....)

FYI - existing owners don't need to go via the (currently broken) website, my update downloaded fine from the ASC.
Can't see that 3x expansions deal in the plugin store, but did see it online earlier.

Aw, I was hoping for the new minimoog filter to get into Pigments and have an improved analog osc section. Looks like no luck on this (yet). But overall a good and solid update - and completely for free, again!

Haven't used them that much, but what is wrong with them?briefcasemanx wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 5:44 pm Still no update to the analog sound engine, which has terrible sounding oscillators?
