I seem to be observing (in RC 5.1) that a folder placed in the designated CustomPhrases directory is not being shown in the Browser.

Yes, sorry, at the moment empty folders are not shown in the browser.

Well, if it has no valid phrases in it, then there is some logic to not showing it. Not sure if this isn't good the way it is.

I wish for a better start up screen, one that immediately says RC is doing stuff, and never ever surprise me with a crash.

I understand that people have wishes for new features like fonts and menus. I acknowledge the importance of having the visual aspects tailored to personal preferences, especially for prolonged use. However, it feels akin to putting new wheels on a car with a broken engine and gearbox.

So, what I'm expressing is not just a wish; it's a standard feature found in every other MIDI software. This alone should underscore the real demand for these features, given their prevalence in other software.

Whether you view this as a wish or a follow-up on previous requests, the focus is on addressing the rhythm and syncopation issues.

I will not only provide an in-depth analysis of problems and comparisons with other software but also offer solutions and articulate what's needed. My experimentation with various variations and generators in RC yielded disappointing results.

When I think of the word 'rapid,' it brings to mind efficiency without going through multiple stages of variations or expecting to have everything at my fingertips. While RC is advanced, many of its features go unexplored online. What I'm suggesting will simplify this and likely yield a different outcome. In the five years I've used RC, I haven't seen an update to the rhythm processing, the foundation of any music creation. Updating this should extend to any device generator inside RC, as well as separate VSTs, working seamlessly with custom phrases and RC generators.

I am open to discussions with anyone who feels these enhancements are unnecessary, unhelpful, or not in demand. The following pictures will illustrate both the solutions and the issues.

As seen in Captain Chords, randomizing space and rests can produce various results on just one phrase. This functionality is currently missing in RC.

In Captain Plugins, there's a button that provides five alternative melodies with a click. When attempting the same within the Melody Generator in RC, the results are notably different.

Syncopation is powerful in Captain Chords, yet RC's current results fall short. The solution is simple: adjust the size of the rest between notes and adapt note lengths, mirroring Captain Chords' outcomes.

Midi Mutator exhibits a major issue in rhythm generation, affecting note lengths and causing problems like notes overlapping. The solution lies in determining the size of the rest between notes and letting RC handle note lengths.
