Parawave Rapid?

On a lark, I booted up Parawave Rapid today and I've been fooling around with it for a while now and ... I have to admit, I really like it a lot. ...more than I remember liking it the last time, anyway.
...Is there reason to believe this is a synth (stroke company) which will see continued support and development, or should I consider this "the final version?"
...Apologies if this was covered recently, but a good 10 min looking through searches didn't give a good answer.

No it's not the final.
The dev was busy on Avenger.
There is a roadmap

Hmmmm... Afaik there are two developers on rapid, one in house and one sub contracted (or some form of relationship), whilst indeed the latter (Mirko) does work for other developers including Avenger (vengeance sound) was that really what has been preoccupying his time?
At the very least there will be some update coming in November of this year...

"Huh!" is my first thought. ...All of the features listed there make it sound like it's ... moving ... toward being like Avenger.
Hmmmn.

Sorry, yes, very different workflow. I simply mean the featureset.Gam456 wrote: Mon Jan 22, 2024 1:46 am No I don't think so. The workflow and sound are way different

We wil see. I believe the primary target is MSG.
I wish a better modulation matrix more close to Spire (2 sources - 4 destinations per slot) and extra source/destination matrix (alternate, OSC etc...

Avenger and Rapid developers and completely different persons, the common thing is that both has the surname "René" (René Sander for Rapid, René Keilwerth for Avenger), but that's all.
I doubt there is any cooperation between them.

I think the dev promised a major update ages ago that was going to add a ton of new features, but then went radio silent.
Still, the plugin is receiving minor updates semi-regularly (last in November) so I wouldn't exactly call it "dead". Besides as you say the synth is already very good in its current state.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

GRANTED: it is better than nothing, but I think you will find that A) the update only adds one VERY minor, teeny-tiny feature, and B) was released almost exactly one year after the last update.AdvancedFollower wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:27 am Still, the plugin is receiving minor updates semi-regularly (last in November) so I wouldn't exactly call it "dead".
It may not be dead, but it barely has a pulse.

There are updates and new features. Parawave was the only one who fixed the Ableton VST3 Preset loading Problem. All others like Korg, Gforce, Minimal Audio and even Vengeance with Avenger 2 do rely on Ableton, that they would fix the issue of long preset loading time on vst3.
The new features and roadmap are not in timeline, but I am sure that they will deliver.
The only thing on Rapid that sucks, is the copyprotection !!!
It would be more easy if the Plugin could login automaticly. I don't use it that often, because everytime i run this plugin, i have to login on his side and download a new license to import

Look at you, all fancy, changing machine every time... because that's the only reason I can imagine needing to login ? I only needed to download the license after a re-install.sacer wrote: Wed Jan 31, 2024 11:01 am I don't use it that often, because everytime i run this plugin, i have to login on his side and download a new license to import

Oddly enough, I actually had to re-activate my copy of the factory library after recently upgrading some of my PC's hardware, but thankfully it was a very quick and smooth experience.koalaboy wrote: Wed Jan 31, 2024 2:09 pmLook at you, all fancy, changing machine every time... because that's the only reason I can imagine needing to login ?
