How many Behringer Synths should one buy?

So many are tempting, including the UBXa at $1199 with poly aftertouch and 16 actual analog voices. I mean, I don't need it, but, is that really a good reason?
Of course you can change your mind on the poll, this isn't science FFS.

You'll want at least eight TD-3s for a proper acid overdose.

I think your options are a bit muddled, or just that your perspective is wrong. I demonstrate moderate self-control but voted 6-20. 1-5 is not self-control, it's vice-like miserliness bordering on self-flagellation. "All of them" is only a small step towards self-pleasure, and to me, true hedonism/lack of any form of discipline would be "one of every colour of everything and then a spare black one just in case cos ya never know".

They did tease a Memorymoog option.
I believe the polysource would only have two oscillators per voice, but a Memorymoog would have three get closer to the Trigon-6 territory. However, may as well get a Trigon-6! If their polys are £1000+.

Trigon 6 doesn't have a poly-aftertouch keyboard and I suspect that their memory boog will. Also, the Trigon 6 doesn't have a 61 key keyboard and costs $3500. So, no, I'd buy the Memoryboog first.egbert101 wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 10:53 pmThey did tease a Memorymoog option.

But, I'm getting ahead of myself. I like the poly-source clone/tribute because of the form factor and price. I really only want one poly-aftertouch keyboard and if I'm going to hang my hat on vaporware then I'll wait for the Behringer CS-80 which will definitely have that keyboard.
The reason that I'm even considering the UBXa is because it is available now(almost).

PolySource, UB-Xa, and the little handheld ones.

I will happily take a Trigon 6 without poly aftertouch. It's my holy grail analog. Although I think the prophet 5 might just be more practical.ghettosynth wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 11:04 pm Trigon 6 doesn't have a poly-aftertouch keyboard and I suspect that their memory boog will. But hey, it all comes down to how much enjoyment you get out of this Behringer stuff. I will happily take any Behringer over a damn mouse and keyboard.

Currently have 4. The D and Pro-800 are set up right now and the Neutron and Odyssey are in their boxes...purely because things were getting cluttered. I'll probably get rid of my Alpha Juno 2 and Korg Nautilus (both of which I seldom seem to use) to make room for a JT-16 and Wave when those finally become available.
