...If there were one type of music you could put (lots) more of into the world, what would it be?

...Have you tried? How did it go?

For me, it's this.

...Yes, I have tried. It ... went really well, IMO, but it wasn't like that. I'll try again at some point, but it is, I have found, REALLY hard to be THAT loud and still be compelling. Reznor is, of course, a master of the craft.

This is both a very "vurt" answer and VERY cool. I hadn't seen it. Looking forward to sinking my teeth in. Thanks!

Since vurt already went with Goat, I'll go with Heilung

I don't have the power to put lots of anything anywhere, but I began to compose in earnest because I wanted a combination of things in music I hadn't encountered.

this is the kind of thing that was afoot when I started

Lukas Ligeti on drums, deep-sea Antarctic diver for the USA Henry Kaiser and SF pianist Greg Goodman. Not sure if the world is ready for a lot more of this kind of thing.

Mine.

Not to the degree of expression and impact I am looking for; it is still being refined. What I did produce before was respectable by the public and myself, but I only want awe now.

What i really want to hear is something like if you took the production style of things like BT's 'This Binary Universe', Burial, or Ben Frost but used post-rock/post-metal/extreme metal guitars as your sample source instead of synths or foley. I think music like this (without the stupid hardcore vocals):

And this,

...are in a decent direction, but so one-note. Only aggression, no dynamics. I want some softer, prettier stuff in there as well.

Whenever i search for 'electro/industrial metal', it's just boring djent riffs with lazy trance arps sputtering around in the background. And then when electronic artists i really respect use guitars (the upcoming Ben Frost album is an example) they don't really integrate the guitar soundwise into the music. There's just this awkward mic'd up guitar amp sitting in the middle of elaborate sound design.

I've been trying to nail this sound for years but am starting to seriously doubt my patience, skill and simple interest in the amount of sound design and technical craft that would be needed to pull it off. I'm getting increasingly satisfied with just a solid guitar riff by itself.
