Will there be a sort of spectral feature too? I'm not trying to pressure you, but I think the additive features recently shown might inspire you to do something cool with the granular engine or wavetables.
I watched some video and got inspired to add some more additive features for the oscialltors

Please do also note: Icarus already can do addtitive synthesis (with harmonic partials) with the wavetable editor. Click on 'Spectrum' on the lower left and move the bars to change the partials of the waveforms.

I am well aware of that, but I just thought doing things in realtime rather than partial editing would be more fun. Thank you, and please do not rush what is going to be an amazing upgrade!

Edit: You can also check Harmor, Razor, Sumu, and classics like the DK Synergy and Kawai K5000 for inspiration. I think in today's world, additive synthesis is understood to be about partial manipulation (like making them noisy or clangorous with variable pitches) and not just harmonic drawbars.

"The GUI can be scaled from 50% up to 200% by clicking in the lower right corner."

Would it be possible to put the control in another place other than a bottom corner ?
I don't know why Developers continue to place drag handles etc......at the bottom. If the GUI is too large for the screen, that is the first part of the UI to disappear, meaning that you cannot drag it. Even a right click anywhere on the UI is a better place to put a resize.

I already own Icarus 2, and although it's a great sounding synth, the resize options always felt a bit awkward, and something I felt that needed to be improved on.

If the bottom is hidden, there is still the menus at the top left. Probably better to stick with industry standard for resize drag, as long as there is a menu option as well if that part is off the screen.

I tend to agree, but some have used that bottom right hand drag corner as the sole method of resizing the UI, and there always seems to be one or two that are off the screen, and you have to go into windows display settings to temporarily adjust the size so you can see the corner, to be able to drag it. It's not something those with good eyesight will care about, but to those of us who have been at this for a few decades, protecting our eyesight is important, and therefore resizing has a big impact.

So I am not really a synth expert but the sonic abilities of 2.5 are the real deal, 64 bit audio engine in 3 is worth the upgrade. Is there a beta if we upgrade now, I will do it this week if there is one?

It sounds really great, however I am getting a lot of pops and clicks on certain presets. Have you noticed anything?

I don't hear any. Which presets are you using with that issue?

We have not received any report about pops and clicks during the last years. There have been only clicks if you used FL Studio with certain settings in combination with a very old version of Icarus. This issue is caused by FL Studio and can affect also plugins from other companies. Imageline is aware of it but still did not fix it. So we made a workaround for it several years ago.

If updating to the current version does not solve it you can contact us here:

Ok thanks for the info. Yes I am using FL Studio and Icarus 1.6 is the only plugin I've had this issue with. I installed the demo for Icarus 2.5 and the problem disappeared, uninstalled it and reinstalled 1.6 and the problem returned. Can't afford to upgrade right now but might do in the future.

Medenka wrote: Fri Jan 26, 2024 7:00 am Is there info which waves are loaded in the oscillators? Say, I load a patch, change the waves in the oscillators, don't save the patch, save the project, and close DAW. On next project launch, will I see anywhere in the GUI - you have this wave loaded in Oscillator 1, that wave in Oscillator 2, etc.?

So, if this has not been implemented in Icarus 3 - this is a feature request!
This is already supported in Icarus since a very very long time (maybe even since v1.0?) . The name of the WAV is shown in the lower center of the waveform display.
Please implement this in Nemesis as well, thanks!

In the plugin wrapper settings enable “used fixed buffer size” and disable “smart disable”and the clicks and pops should stop
