Verily, amidst the myriad foolish deliberations that have graced this establishment—wherein the competition for such folly is undeniably fierce—this particular discourse emerges as a prime contender for preeminence. What import bears the nomenclature, be it deemed "a plugin," "a library," or even "a cow"? In truth, who inquires or bestows concern upon such matters?

I uninstalled all my NI plugins and software, and then all my NI problems went away, mysteriously.

This was communicated (but not exactly what I would call accurately) last April, May June...by NI - but due to "technical" limitations - the concept of having v1 "update" itself to V2 (which many thought WAS the default) was lost on these guys - so everyone had to download the new app and install manually.

There were diehards that thought they could stay on NA v1 forever, but NI warned that infrastructure would eventually be phased out and apps like Kontakt were some of the first to be affected. As you found out...

That said - once you are on NA v3.8.x - you will now be good for all things NI for the foreseeable future.

Imagine you could do that with people. Just uninstall them, and, mysteriously, all your problems go away.

Sure, for NI this is THE solution. No activation circus, all-night phone calls, no permanent reinstallations ...

Would we still be able to uninstall peps if Neo took the Blue pill?

Quick summation: Semantics

Can we all move on now?

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I'm sorry, did ... anyone else hear something? I could have sworn I'd heard something. No? Okay, then. Moving on.

Can I help turn this poor shakespearean AI sentence into plain english?

Among the many silly discussions here, where people compete to be foolish, this specific conversation is a top contender. What does the name really mean, whether it's called a plugin, a library, or even a cow? Honestly, who cares or pays attention to such things?
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just saying, but, NI just updated one of their 17 year old synths: https://community.native-instruments.co ... 6-0#latest

That said, I'm sure the nitpickers will find something very scandalous about that again, of course.
