ahja, did you have a previous username here, or have you been lurking for a long time before registering? cos it strikes me as odd that someone who registered here in October of 2004 can so readily determine the musical trends of the community...

Sorry for the delay: I got sidetracked for quite a while by making music rather than talking about it.

By way of example, I write my own music generators in C++ under the MFX plugin specification. Others also "roll their own" similarly in any programming language that can hook up to a MIDI interface...

For a survey of other methods, visit the RUCCAS site. There are many exhibitors to sample and learn from. You might not like them, but at least read how they do it: not all of them use Reaktor!
