The dance mat is a PS2 controller. I use it plugged to a "Smart Joy" PS2 to USB converter which connects to my Mac. Then, I use the Junxion software to convert my steps into MIDI. It's very straight forward!
I use it with Ableton Live mostly to trigger samples.
The only GB I bent was the red one. I did the ProSound mod but I haven't noticed much difference. Gladly, it still works.

Should you be interested in Junxion: http://www.steim.org/steim/junxion.html

Hey, what's that silver unit?

Post

Simple Setup. MOTIF Rack, Bellari RP220, and Korg OASYS (in the blue computer) are my only outboard pieces. The rest is software.

The keyboard is a temporary el cheapo with a few broken keys. Rent claimed my old JV 1000 :?

Mine is all (minus the real gear) soft and I don't have a picture taken yet of my newer monitors, RMX box, ST2XL box, etc etc. I also had two electrics but gave one away to goodwill so hopefully some young lad will use it, and the other one I have never taken a picture of (not sure why :hihi: )
But it gets the idea across. 8)

Also those Nady cans are great! (and cheap)

Hey Brice,

Have you been tempted at all by the TI? Plan A for me: sell my C and get a TI for the software interface, extra fx, polyphony and because I know I want it. Plan B: Keep the Virus C, pick up a cheap synth or two from EBay, maybe an evolver and a micron. Plan C: avoid the gear lust, stick with what I've already got!

Post

Simple answer yes.

I am wondering though how (if they changed the keys or knob feel) the TI would be, and the price obviously matters.
But yes, ONLY because programming on the virus is a pain in the butt where as the TI would be ALOT faster I feel.

For me I think I am going option C: but not avoiding the gear lust
I plan to get SS2, GPO, more RAM I am buying on friday, and we'll see from there. Now you mentioned another synth, you wanting more all around sound synth, or programming synth? As for as programming goes, for me, the virus KC does everything I need it to :o :D

someone else said something about being "tidy" so I had to engage in a bit of one-ups-manship

and a view of the rest of the crap

of course, this is just the gear that I use on a regular basis. I had to sell or store half my gear because when you spin 180 degrees from the the first pic, you see this:
