Nothing was worse than how long it took Reason to natively add audio tracks into their 'DAW'.Jac459 wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 7:42 am I don't think we can have any doubt on the fact that Reason 12 is plenty of power to do songs start to finish... It is a fantastic tool, like many of the top DAWs.
That being said, we can also agree that Reason Studios has had some strong delays on delivering key features that has upset their core users to the max.
I am thinking of VST3 support and Apple Silicon native.
To me, it was never blocking issues but I really started to look outside Reason because of the negativity and aggressivity of its community.
If you look at ReadonTalk forum, KVR is a peaceful heaven in comparison.
I don't really understand this mindset. If you don't like something, just buy something else and shut the F.... up.
Some News relative to REASON STUDIOS ?

To be fair they had to basically write a whole new DAW from scratch. The current Reason is just Record with a new name on it. The "old" Reason no longer exists. I know that doesn't matter on paper but I don't think Props ever thought people would want to record audio in Reason so they never actually planned for that. It took FLStudio a long time to get audio tracks as well.Psuper wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 3:46 pmNothing was worse than how long it took Reason to natively add audio tracks into their 'DAW'.Jac459 wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 7:42 am I don't think we can have any doubt on the fact that Reason 12 is plenty of power to do songs start to finish... Reason to me is the easiest DAW to use in general. This may be because I came from ProTools/Early versions of Studio one rewired with Reason so I became so used to the way it worked. I personally make music faster in it than any other DAW so again all of this is personal preference. Anyone in these Forums claiming there is a singular way that all DAW's should work is delusional. There is a massive amount of music makers out there who work with Reason because we love the workflow just like there are for other DAW's.

Well I did say I'd have to look for it, as in find it later and circle back to it, not just leaving it as it was stated.jens wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 7:18 am Sorry, but that is complete nonsense in its entirety - that your remember someone saying something somwhere at some point in time is your argument for Reason not being useful as a DAW?
Don't you realise how silly saying something like this is? What happened to facts and arguments?
Anyways, heads up:
Start at 8:31
It’s a short segment but I was referencing the answer to the question “Are there users Reason is not for?” section. Interpret it as you will but a lot of ppl heard “Reason is not a start-to-finish music tool.”
To the other points made about you can use Reason or any DAW however you want, this is true but in this case, even the developers of Reason are kinda saying you’re using a screwdriver as a hammer if you’re trying to make it an end-all be-all tool. Can you do that? Sure, but you’re gonna be doing more work than if you were using an actual hammer.

Nope, you were paraphrasing him completely falsely (if on purpose or... I can't say) - and he's not a developer by the way - he's their product manager.

I just watched the segment at 8:31 with Mattius and that's wild that you came to that conclusion by what he said. He simply stated its not geared towards post production and film work which is true. The same could be said about Ableton, Bitwig, FL Studio, Reaper, etc. Doesn't mean you cant do it(fairly easily actually) but its not what the software is focused on. Reason Studios even way back in the Propellerhead days have always been very up front about focusing on helping people make the best music possible. Its what made me fall in love with the software in the first place.
