That's quite tidy still; I seem to remember a pic of Shane's studio :-o

its more than that. this room serves as a recording studio, broadcasting studio, home office, nursery, storage room, playroom, and media center. its also where I get drunk and post at this abyssmal place every night.

cheers.

Well, just for a lark, I decided to post a picture... and decided to NOT clean up at all. In fact, I added to the clutter. Not much, though-- this is REALLY how messy it currently is; the only thing I added was the guitar rack (which is in my bedroom most of the time) and the mandolin lying on the floor. Oh, there's a wine glass on the computer table, and some empty candy wrappers as well. Nestle's Crunch and a nice Merlot. ;)

Feast your eyes upon a space where sterile lack of charm meets clutter:

I must admit (seeing your studio) that I did put my guitars back in the stand before I took the pics. they were strewn about where I've been re-stringing and noodling since xmas.

I wish I had something besides a free(!) webcam to take digital pictures with, but I don't. So here's a few pictures I took tonight:

And now for an artsy picture of my Radium 49:

Check here for pictures of other instruments, almost all of which are my dad's (the violin being the only exception).

how playable is that airsynth?
well ...

... TBH the range of the IR beam isnt great (15cm max id say) and youre stuck to the 50 presets ...

... BUT it is GREAT fun to arse around with and excellent for spot fx and wibbly goodness (wouldnt really want to try and play any sort of melody on it though) ...

... to hear it in action check out some of the tracks HERE ... where it pops up all over the place ...

(theres a few sounds on the scissor sisters album that have a familliar tone to them too)

... and im still toying with the idea of grabbing an airFX too and linking the two together ...

... if you want a 'proper' recommendation vurt played with the airsynth at the last KVR meet and now wants one

i can relate to that - i'm having one in six weeks and i've got the hard word on tidying things up!

I've got GPO. It was my favourite purchase of 2004. You need plenty of memory though - it isn't designed to be streamed from disk so you need at least a gig.

Synth-wise, I've got enough all rounders. I suppose I'd like a hardware synth with a different character than the Virus - I often find myself reaching for it rather than software for leads/basses in particular because I know I can always get a cool, usable sound from it without too much effort. If they didn't go under the next generation of Waldorf synths may have been the go...
