I also think this may be a good candiate for a free update. If you can buy the new Newfangled delay for $29, i can't imagine what a reasonable upgrade price would be for this.

I for one never used it because it's not VST3. I'm not in the mood for paying just to be able to use it.

It’s not going to be a free update. They explicitly stated that sometime last year.

Raddler1 wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2024 4:22 am I wonder if that actually may be true. For the sake of the many Sigmund V1 owners who have not been able to use their copy for quite some time now, due to OS compatibility issues, perhaps D16 will be kind enough to offer free upgrades as a fair gesture. I think Sigmund is the only D16 plugin that has suffered such a long wait time for compatibility. On mac anyways.
What a nonsense. They are kind enough without your silly attempt. Having them engage with this psycho forum is already a ton of kindness.

It is your homework to download a demo and then see whether is it working for you or not both systemwide and soundwise. They offer that. If it does not meet your standards or it does not function properly on your setup then you don't purchase it and move on.

You do not purchase software just to be able to bitch about it or call a company for a discount. And you do not purchase software that is not working or does not have the functionality you want (like sidechain duck ducking fuc* duck). But you know, being here for two decades I have seen more polished crap than your argument.

Most certainly software having a bug is NOT a thing to ask for a free upgrade. By that logic, 99.99% of the industry plugins should be upgradeable for free.

It will be a paid update.

As an armchair expert with several degrees in YouTube science, the self-proclaimed detector, and a Blade Runner of fake forum product experts - I am calling your argument a dud.
Don't have a panic attack now. Might want to get your facts straight...

Sigmund has not been useable on mac since Big Sur, which was released in November 2020. That's four years and counting. So much to say that if you bought the plugin while on Catalina, you'd have to stay on Catalina just to use this one plugin. Highly unlikely anyone would do that. Logic X alone won't run on anything less than Ventura. We are now on macOS Sonoma, three versions later. So basically, that's four years lost for your paid plugin.

I have never subscribed to the idea that upgraded versions of a plugin should be free. I recognize a company has bills and employees to pay. However, in the unique case with Sigmund, I don't think it's crazy to consider that V2 could potentially be a free upgrade.

Don’t you think the substantial amount of time that has passed and the amount of work required to get it working is more of an argument FOR a paid upgrade than an argument against it?

I am sure the upgrade will be very reasonably priced (20-30$). Free is a stretch.
I make electronic music - DAW of choice : Live 12

That makes zero sense in all of its entirety.

I think your comment doesn't make sense because i said 'i'm'. I expect an apology.

my guess is a $19 upgrade
$29 upgrade for both nepheton and drumazon if i recall correctly?
i'm in the mac silicon camp so i haven't had access to sigmund for years.
it sucks, but just like the drum plugins i'll pay the upgrade just to have it back in my kit.

I appreciate the devs commitment to updating their plugins, the much older ones take more time and d16 have an extensive range going back years.I don't mind paying for a reasonable upgrade at all. Just hurry up with PunchBox
Mac Studio M4
15.7.3
Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

I'm so temporally confused that to me PunchBox is one of the new ones, that I've yet to try out... Sigh, need to get my head together

I know nothing about coding or its complexities, Lunchbox was released in 2016 (Sigmund 2013), some maybe harder than others to upgrade, wether its VST3 or M1 IDK

There is a sale on now, so if I buy it now do I get the upgrade when it releases? Probably the same or close to the upgrade price. They said Q1 24. Confusing.
