Donno. I just don't have problems with their software, ever. The worst thing that's ever happened here was eg., the dead for 7 or 8 yrs Kore 2 one day with OS upgrades become almost installable and if you could finagle that, authorization was impossible.
Honestly, I see five days of pain and self-built computer and I see problems unique to an individual.
Not that I'm entirely unsympathetic but I must say rhetoric like "Enter in NI land with caution" unnecessary, it does take a single perspective to project it as though it must be a universal.
My litle machine that I can't even tamper with is not giving me any days of pain, and if you want to argue that here's some perspective.

I believe your vision is impaired by your lack of understanding.jancivil wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:59 pm.

You don't know who I am, what I've done, where my education is, what my professional background is, etc etc
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

Wow, you are SO fortunate. I mean Ive built workstations to support audio DSP (I used to be the IT manager for the Oakland Coliseum and Arena venues. I did live streaming and show support, property management, etc) which immediately had issues with NA on fresh, clean systems. Ive had NA barf during initial installations 3-4 times, which resulted in NI sending me that reset tool. You know what I mean, right? The 32bit and 64bit instrument/library reset tool they send people when NA screws up? If the tool doesnt work, your next solution is a rebuild.jancivil wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:59 pm Donno. You are so fortunate to have no probs with NI tech! I wonder what platform you had, which made it so painless??

It surely doesn't sound like NI "got rid of him".Milkman wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:59 pmI guess you will have to watch his video yourself, as it sounds like you havent. You know, the video where he talks about being "disappointed and upset by it - an understatement"? I like how he mentions working with the early NI team to make it all possible in the first place. Yeah sounds like no big deal to Brian, lol.chk071 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:50 pm I wonder if Brian Clevinger would agree that NI "got rid of him", because "was not part of their new philosophy".
From what I read what he said, he only declared his sadness about the discontinuation of Absynth. Which is pretty understandable (the discontinuation), by the way, as it's a niche product. Heck, even Massive X didn't seem to sell particularly well, and that is a much more mainstream instrument.

Where he says "I am disappointed, to say the least", does it sound like it was his decision, or was it NI's?

He said "I am disappointed to say the least", not that NI got rid of him.
You know, you don't have to make up stuff to make your point bigger than it is.
He also said a lot of other things of positive nature about his relationship with NI, which you obviously totally ignore. But, hey.

Lack of what understanding? I don't know you, you aren't the topic or of particular interest to me, your professional whatsit etc is utterly of zero relevance to any point! if you want to fight with me use PM. I can say the ignorant stunt you pulled on my little discussion of Lydian tonality is a terrible sign of your "vision".Scoops wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 10:02 pmI believe your vision is impaired by your lack of understanding.jancivil wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:59 pm Honestly, I see five days of pain and self-built computer and I see problems unique to an individual.

I just am giving some balance to a sort of sky is always falling sound. You have systemic shit going on that you need a culprit for. Objectively, your issue is not even close to universal and the friendliest thing I can do with that is say you might want to look at how that is. But you do you, it's of no moment here

Don’t worry. Blocks are kinda dead, but the existing ones are still amazing and will continue to be so. Just get all the Toybox packs and you’re good for a whileswilow11 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:00 pm Damn, I just bought a bunch of different Reaktor blocks and installing and using them has been both simple and fun. Something is up here for sure![]()

I know! Why dont we all just make sweet music together, and forget about brands and economies and money and stress completely! Yes, lets just rise above reality and live in the bourgeois space, where life's bothers are no bother at all. Lets socially interact with each other like every forum is LinkedIn's forums!

You seem utterly desperate to shield NI from criticism, even from killing Absynth and abandoning Brian Clevinger, and yeah -- Ive seen your account on NI's forums, and if Im not mistaken Steinberg's also? lmaochk071 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 10:05 pm He said "I am disappointed to say the least", not that NI got rid of him.

If this was a group on a mainstream social media site, half the people defending NI in this thread would be claiming the people making legitimate criticisms about the brand were Russian Agents, or whatever came to mind that day.

Maybe one day, you'll be able to grasp the difference between someone being disappointed that he can't continue to develop his product, and a company getting rid of him. Or you'll be able to take words for what they are, not for what you think they mean. So long.

Yes, the guy using psych terms ('catastrophizing') to describe angry, experienced customers wasnt the extremist.chk071 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 10:23 pm See, that's what I mean. You are very extreme, dude.
That's no rarity, of course. Lots of extremists on this site.
The extremists on this site are those with widely credible, easily verifiable brand criticisms.
