Interesting.
One guess was spot on and some of the others in the right ball park.

The Alpha is my favorite synth of all time, I own an AJ-1 and know its sound well, and these demos don't scream Alpha Juno to me either. But... I am always impressed at how chameleon-like the Alpha can be when it's not being used for paint stripping hoover type sounds. With more subdued sounds and with sufficient effects, I think it could make sounds similar to these demos. It certainly fits the description in any case. We'll find out soon enough, thankfully.

Edit: Upon further listening I am convinced it is the Alpha.

Highly doubtful it would be from Arturia, as they just came out with V Collection X in December

They never release anything that soon afterwards

They usually release something 3-4 months ahead of a new V Collection release

OK, but this is what I want it to be.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Arturia web is offline, if it is an indication :)

Edit: Online again

I consider TAL as the cool company. and Alpha Juno is the mid 80s (1985)

Post

Alpha Juno and JX-8P both came out in 1985.

Both are 6-voice DCOs, but JX-8P is 2 oscs per voice, while Alpha Juno is only 1 osc per voice.

My bigger brother came out in 86, might be emulation of him. :-D PWM cries all the way :)

Why make this thread 13 months in advance?

Post

Its called a TAL.PHA and I assume an emulation of an Alpha Juno. He made a mistake showing the title on Twitter yesterday.

Sounds beautifully digital (which is good as that's what the original synth was aiming for).
