I don't know any other bundle that offers so many high quality plugins for such an insane price.
60 plugins for $99!!!
Some highlights :
C4 Multiband Compressor
(great for electric bass to cut thru)
H-Delay (legendary!)
IR-L Convolution Reverb (top venues, concert halls etc)
L2 Limiter (used for many professional productions)
Linear Phase Multiband Compressor for mastering
MaxxBass (legendary)
Metafilter (nice)
MetaFlanger (amazing).
MV2 ("secret" weapon in bass)
Renaissance plugins (all very good)
SuperTap (great delay)
Smack attack (Transient shaper)
V-plugins (best Neve emus!)
Vitamin (try it!)

Three thoughts on this:
1. 99 bucks is the sale price and an all-time low. It can be lower if you pick up the bundle upgrade for the stuff you already have.
2. Some of the products are literally 20 years old or older. However, this can be an advantage as Waves never retire anything. The solutions are very future-proof. And they get the job done. Many pros have been using the plugins for decades. And Platinum is sort of a standard bundle that gives you the tools for 90% of your daily mixing business.
3. Downsides: WUP and problems with old OSes, mainly on Mac. On Windows, I've never had problems. Clunky Waveshell. Big framework installation. And you're always missing something that you want to have, so you are very likely to upgrade later.
Bottom line: I've bought Platinum on sale to be compatible with some people who also have it. For the price, I do not regret it. But there are more modern bundles (e.g. Melda, Arturia) around that also deserve a test run. In the end, it's a personal decision.
Just my 2c.

Remember also that some of these old plugins have become classic sought after sounds in their own right. Just as an 1176 or a Pultec eq has been a sought after sound from a long bygone era, plugins of yesteryear are becoming the new classic.
The Renaissance plugins for and the MV2 a good example of this. Many engineers still use them for what they do and their desirable sonic characteristics. So because something is old, doesn't mean it is terrible or irrelevant.
