Hey Guys,
New Harmony Bloom 1.1.2 update is available.
Free for users who already have it. Just need to log into your account at www.marionietoworld.com to download the 1.1.2 installer for the update, and it's not necessary to re-enter the serial number.
If you bought Harmony Bloom without an account, don't worry. Just create an account at www.marionietoworld.com using the same email you used for the purchase, and then email me to link your purchase to your new account.
What´s new:
- New Reverse Option. Now it's possible to change the direction in which the notes spin.
- Some UI Changes, the look of the spiral has been refined, and among other things, now every time a note is played, the circle and what's around the sequencer light up momentarily, creating a more magical visual experience.
- Added bigger range for note durations up to 10 seconds.
- Note duration has been added to the Random Global system.
- New: When you open the "save preset" dialog, if there's a preset already loaded, its name will auto-fill in the name field but with a number added to the end. This makes it faster to save variations of a preset, as it suggests a new, incrementally numbered name based on the current one.
- Bug Fix: Fixed a compatibility issue with the standalone and plugin versions that caused a crash in the plugin version.
- Bug Fix: After the sequencer exceeds a very high number of cycles, the trigger bars stopped working correctly.
- Bug Fix: Retrigger notes doesn't work well with overlapping notes.
- Bug Fix: Exporting the MIDI captured through the export button did not generate a correct MIDI file.
Best,
Mario

Unfortunately I can't open the new version on my Mac due to security measures. It says it may be corrupt or been tampered with.

Hi Mario,
Love the new version! (I was able to open it on an M1 Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.3.1)
Thank you so much for the auto fill preset name feature! Makes me so happy!
After playing around more here's a new feature idea.
Feature Request: Slider for "Initial Start Offset" or "Retrigger Start Point"
Many presets evolve and morph overtime and this means that the results of the same preset vary wildly depending on the starting point of the preset. This makes the offset of the start position an extremely powerful variable to play with.
With this feature, if you have a midi pattern re-triggering, for example, the notes every 1 bar, simply changing the retrigger start point will give you new patterns within the same preset settings.
The current work around to achieve this is to drag and drop the Midi to your DAW and chop the loop at a different start point. But, this is less than ideal because it doesn't allow for live modulation, or for that resulting pattern to be saved as part of the preset itself.

And we're gone from "it's not exactly Spiral but it has a lot if its own strengths" to "Spiral, but much, much better".
(at least in my opinion.)
tl;dr Good job, Mario
I'm not quite comfortable asking for another feature, but would you consider adding a freeze switch to the speed offset?
A lot of the sequences I like are "happy accidents" found while the notes were moving in a spiral; it would be nice to be able to freeze that moment and have the notes run their course without being affected by the speed offset.
Thank you for releasing one of my favourite sequencers so far.

The ZIP file containing the Windows installer appears to be corrupt. I am unable to extract the files due to an "archive damaged" error.

It seems there's a problem with the download link o the web; for some reason, it breaks the authorization and signature. It doesn't happen to all users but it does to some... I'm looking into how to solve this.ians wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 2:05 pm Unfortunately I can't open the new version on my Mac due to security measures. It says it may be corrupt or been tampered with.
Please, both write to me at mario@marionietoworld.com and I'll send you another link that shouldn't have any issues. Additionally, if you could send me the installer that's failing, that would be great. That way, I can analyze it and fix the issue. The ZIP file containing the Windows installer appears to be corrupt. "Initial Start Offset" and "freeze" are two things on my to-do list, so I want to include them in a future update.
Btw, there's no problem with asking for features, I'm delighted to receive feedback and suggestions to improve HB

Is anyone else getting random things happen when clicking the new velocity variation toggle??
It seems to be triggering the reverse function and other random things for me, Ableton Live 12 Beta on Windows 10. If I use the automation slider it seems to work without issues.

Confirmed: for me, turning off and then on the velocity toggle also reverses the direction.bob swans wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2024 7:20 pm Is anyone else getting random things happen when clicking the new velocity variation toggle??

Hey! Indeed, I overlooked that bug and a few more, but they are now fixed and I've uploaded new versions/installers to the website. You can update from marionietoworld.com under account and downloads.
New Version 1.1.3 Change Log:
- Bug Fix: Variable names of Note Collection, Scale, and Root – automation names are off by one .
- Bug Fix: When activating the random Velocity, it would change the invert sequencer direction.
- Expose Free Offset to DAW for Automation.
Please, any additional bugs you find, let me know!
Thanks!
