Did a search - didn't see any topics on this, so...

What's your pre- music/composing/etc. ritual?

Me: a bit of meditation, and some Red Bull (just to balance things out...

I try and block out the day I had, before I start.
Also lighting some nice smelling candles helps

Hmmm, normally i find it easier to compose late at night, so i just light a few candles, drink some stella or coffee - just make things as comfortable as possible.

Mine is usually an overflow from the day I've had...the little peculiar things that inspired nostalgia and tingled my emotions...what remains of them...the studio, daddy's den, whatever you call it is also drowned in high quality incense...even a crumb of food on the floor in here ruins everything...perhaps why I never get anything done...

I make sure all my little chores are taken care of so I will not have to stop for anything

gather some snackables and refreshments
and hang the 'do not disturb' sign on the door

Funny you should ask this...

...I was just thinking about how I always light a smelly candle and put on a baseball cap backwards before I sit down to do any music
