We'll see soon now.Old Norse wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 3:12 pm I desperately want @pdxindy to be right and me to be wrong, i.e. fully polyphonic filters and VCAs. Though it will drive the price up, even if it's being assembled in Asia.
I want me to be right too... not about being right, but because two matriarchs in a box without the patch points would not interest me at all. I already have a Matriarch with patch points. Plus a Grandmother.
A gorgeous sounding 8 voice with some creativity in the feature set is for sure interesting. Just please, no fans!
The fan noise in the Moog One was horrible. The Moog One really was a disaster from the start too. It was beyond buggy and still has issues that have never been fixed or couldn't be. Plus it sounded too tame.

The same was on the Moog One... for expanded parameters.egbert101 wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 3:18 pm Anyone have any idea what those little black triangles are sticking out? Is that the warp drive?

I was attempting humor. I won't buy the Moog. I also like how spread out they are, that's awesome. I also can appreciate some aspects of their design, e.g., the Matriarch's patchable design is rather cool. That said, for me, they are overpriced and, as much as I like large panels, I just don't have room for them and have settled on a middle ground.D-Fusion wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 3:04 pmI would not say that they have superior build quality based on their latest offering from 2016 to now that have had lots of quality issues, bugs and other problems.ghettosynth wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 2:22 pmShhh, you weren't supposed to say that out loud in this thread.egbert101 wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:47 pm Still think the Polysource concept would be just as good at a fraction of the price. Vintage polyphonic sounds plus presets.
Ok, yeah, totally, I'm way going to be in to the superior build quality of the Moog with it's way better build quality and history and stuff.

I could make that list even bigger but these are enough for now
The new Moog does look interesting so i am looking forward to get more info on it and the price![]()

Multiply by 5, and you might be close. Come on, it's Moog.D-Fusion wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 3:20 pm Maybe they will give Behringer the Middle finger and sell it for $1000 to compete against the UB-XA![]()

It is Inmusic now and not Moog so we might see some magic Inmusic Pricing if we are lucky
Or they could go the other way too like Novation did after they bought Sequential and gave us around 80% higher price for the Prophet Rev 2 in Europe.

I can't wait to spend four grand on an eight voice synthesizer.

Prophet 6, Trigon 6, and OB-6 keyboards are each $3500 and only 6 voices, so the Mirror will be an attractive competitor. A desktop module/rack version would certainly get my attention.
