NI has the best filters (Massive X, Reaktor Blocks). Following ‘The Drop’ of course.

I understand they upgraded the filters in Kontakt 5, but I didn’t find much info. Does anyone know if those are on the same level as MX and Blocks? The ladder filter oversamples so it’s defo zdf, but is it actually the ‘Monark’ filter?

How does it compare to Ableton Sampler filter (which is a downgraded Cytomic filter)? Thanks. And what is your favourite colour and what should be mine?

What makes you think the ladder is zdf just because it oversamples ?
I think the ladder filter is the same as the Reaktor primary ladder filter , exact same settings

It's not the same as the Reaktor primary ladder, no. It's based on Core filter framework modules IIRC. All the filters added in Kontakt 5 filters are like that - they are not direct copies of the filters from the Core factory set though. IIRC Mike Daliot and Vadim Z worked on those.

If based on core zdf filters , then I assume they sound great
Don't have kontakt (just reaktor )

They do sound a lot better than old filters indeed Unsure if they are ZDF though, that might be too CPU expensive with sampler-level polyphony going into hundreds of voices.
