Question for the user of this plugin : what is typical use case for this thing? Do you load it anytime you need an eq ? on the mixbuses only ? if you use it on the mix bus whats the difference between this and gulfoss and wavesfacotry equaliser ? Like I understand the features and they seem tempting but I want to know how people use it in a real production context not just a youtube demo.

Gullfoss is a real time shaper. Smart eq is an eq that can also specially sample audio and work in conjunction across channels/tracks. You can use it as your only EQ if you wanted, unlike Gulfoss.

do you use it like that ? I mean on multiple channels and let the plugin do it's thing. I've tried a similar workflow with Izotope's neutron and was not wowed by the results.

Yes. It’s the primary use case of the EQ for me. I never use it, otherwise. It’s better than iZotope, and can be customized before and after.

You can use as a regular dynamic EQ with auto gain, minimal or linear phase.

I use it additionally as a spectrum balancer (60 sec learning time / Universal preset). Works fine on the mix bus.

I use it as my go to EQ basically on every channel. That way I can also use the group function let's say in my Main Lead Synth group. Then I can put one on the Group channel itself as well, and use the group function on Main Lead group / Atmo synth / FX Synth group. Like that..

When I "learn" a sound, it hangs in the learning part. It doesn't go further.
Sometimes it's working they way it should work.

I'm having the same happen. Seems to be about a 50/50 chance it'll work properly. Replacing the plugin instance has worked for me to unstick. I am using Bitwig 5.1

not sure, they are aware and work on it, the suggestion is to use vst2 for now.

Currently also having issues in Bitwig, sometimes it's learning phase is stuck, especially with groups. Hope they'll fix soon, otherwise great update. Using it all over the place now in my mixes.

Am quiting project then relearning and that works "sometimes". But then group got wacked. I submitted bug. 1.0.0 has been out for a while, so hopefully a bug fix update is coming soon.

Version 1.0.1 fixed this issue for me now (VST3, macOS Sonoma)
