this goes to wave alchemy ! ....no "fun to read" to be had here ;)

hmm,.....this is what triggers me right now, respectivly hurdles i´m fighting with:

1. Track category name with my own samples loaded:
it has now overwritten the name several times with: foley.
But it´s a kick ( sampled Jomox BD)
What am i doing wrong here ?....cause i have NOT set the name to "foley" !
Somehow it seems to do it automaticly ? what´s going on ?
What can i do to stop this ?

2. Envelopes, here we are:
Why would somebody want to have the envelope shape visualisation be hidden ? whats disturbing there ?
I want to see that envelope shape *all the time*.
Especially also when switching thru samples.

Thats one of the big strenghts of PC based setups: we can have a way better visual feedback.
Higher amounts of -important- information can be shown in one spot.
Request: please make the envelope visible all the time ! ( or add a button/setting for this, maybe ?)

3. user error here !
the track in focus ( sound page): it´s the same grey as above. That´s not good enough for me.
For my taste, it needs to be brighter and more distinguishable.
I´d say: go more towards white.
why should this hurt anybodys eyes ?
( my error: i switch settings on wrong instruments/tracks)
( i rate this as "forced user error", which could see some improvements to help the user )
=> this one is not trivial to me

4. special wish:
i´d like to see the running blinking "active step" light also, when the sound page is open !
just show it accordingly to the track set to focus. That would be very welcome !

5 user error ?
i activate the keyboard button vs. an instrument.
But how can i deactivate it ?
i would have expected, i click on it again ? But i can´t get it go off ( on mac, AU )

and: ofcourse do i see many of the very strenghty points !
it´s a good piece of work, ....with quite a bit of potential for improvements.

yeah, the ability to link to other user folders !
for now i copyed several sample folders over to Triaz. Works for me for now

Thanks for reading ! No offense meant !
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Really enjoying Triaz. The workflow is great for me. Nice, good looking, snappy interface. Very quick to work with - and is a lot of fun to use. Great job and I'm looking forward to the improvements over the coming months.

For me, it's the best balance that I've found and I'll be using this & Ableton for all my drums from now (maybe some AD2).

wave alchemy wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2024 10:12 am Hi all,

As promised here is a rough roadmap of the improvements and features for Triaz we plan to work on over the coming weeks / months:

Roughly 2 weeks
A hot fix update for any pressing issues or bug reports. There is likely also room to add a couple of the enhancements suggested from user reports within this update.

Roughly 8-12 weeks
Smart sequencer randomization screen. This will be very powerful and include smart randomization of individual sequencer lanes and entire sequence patterns, and taking cues from the Drum Randomizer will also include options for locking lanes from randomization, randomizing FX lanes, control/s for introducing the probability of non musical notes or intensity.

This update will possibly coincide with the launch of a Free Player version of Triaz, which is designed purely to load expansions that we will sell, alongside many of the other features listed below at the bottom of this post.

Roughly 6 months
AI / ML based bulk sample Import option where users can automatically link in, sort and tag all their samples with AI from different locations. We would train this model for character tagging based on our huge hand tagged library of drum sounds.

Other Features

We are not sure exactly which update these will land in, but during this timeline we'd also like to add the following features / improvements:

• Ability / option to add full step velocity steps in sequencer with one click.
• Export page enhancements with more control over exporting stuff wet vs dry
• Single click one shot drum export (dry and wet)
• Phase invert button on drum layers
• More filter modes
• Lock kit whilst changing patterns
• Sample offset per layer
• XY Pad slop modulation
• More user definable options such as allowing drums to audibly be triggered using drum tabs when sequencer is running
• More DAW automation lanes and MIDI CC learn.

Expansions
We are also already working on quite a few expansions and plan to release these regularly once we get these rolling. An expansion pack will contain presets, patterns, new sounds, and perfect tagging and show up automatically just like the factory presets in their own section under the factory library. We are planning to build a cloud installer meaning you will just enter a serial or code and the expansion will automatically download into the correct place in Triaz and be ready to use out of the box.

Some expansions we are working on (none of these are the final names), but just how we are describing them internally:

1. World Percussion - This is an enormous collection of beautifully recorded world percussion covering African, Latin, Brazilian, Indian, Asian etc percussion instruments, which has been over a year in the making. It will likely include somewhere between 7,000-10,000 sounds and be perfectly tagged with presets across many styles for Triaz.

2. Vibey Acoustic Drums - This is an insane collection of aesthetically designed acoustic drums for modern electronic genres. We've been working on this for 2 years, creatively recording drums at many of the best studios around the world, including Bryan Adam's Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada and many others. This will include around 10,000 sounds and is a totally epic project :D

3. Playground Drums - Maybe some of you own our Beat Lab sample pack that we launched as limited time deal during Black Friday in 2022. This takes the same idea but expands upon it. None the same samples are included (It's al brand new content). The idea here was recording and processing our favorite sounds from over 30 new and modern drum machines, and then taking taking these recordings and processing them in several unique ways, such as recording them back through a huge PA system into some of the best drum rooms in the world and picking the signal back up through expensive vintage mix configurations, recording them to tape, old cassette tapes, through lofi gear and other things. It's a really creative and unique collection and again will have tons of presets and perfect tagging directly in Triaz.

4. Genre based expansions - we have many of these planned and these will eventually come out on a regular basis, covering different gernes, styles, quirky experimental stuff, modular synth drums etc,.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope this gives a rough idea of where we plan to take this :tu:

Note: The timelines for these updates are estimates, so things may change by a few weeks if things arise out of our control.
Just curious: Do you already have rough timelines for when you'd like to release the expansions? It sounds (between the lines) like this could coincide or start with the launch of the free player version?

So I am probably going to ask something silly or stupid or what's being asked. Please link answers if they exist.

1. Is there a way to chain patterns? I am not requesting this as a feature, just merely asking.
2. Is there a way to randomly use A,B, and C for the round-robin effect? SLOP is fantastic, was thinking is there a way to incorporate or perhaps it is already possible with the modulation to load three sample variations of one instrument and somehow skip between A,B, and C to achieve that?
3. When I draw velocity hits, is there a shortcut to say draw all hits in the last remembered state? So for example I draw the first hit with a velocity of 100, holding some keys will draw all others at 100. If I change this to 60 by manually adding a hit of 60, then all others will be 60 - something like that.

Automatic tagging is horrendous (but not making Triaz any least bit less desirable). For example, Sononym auto-tagging and instrument recognition are impeccable. In fact with it, and with the Synonym "find duplicates" I was able to realize that many vendors use the same sample with just different names. Sometimes even in the same sound pack. Yes, this will sound controversial but I have found that even you (WaveAlchemy) sometimes added probably by user error - the same sample as the "phase cancel" sample in the pack of samples. I wouldn't be surprised to find the same samples across different packages but when you find the same samples within the same pack sometimes even the same folder just with different names it makes you wonder.

Anyway, I think auto tagging could be a bit better.

I am purchasing this.

Bug report for website: when you log and update your addresses and add company names, you hit save and nothing happens. Refresh and fields are empty.

So I added again, and this time I also added Billing data, pressed save,d, and again nothing happened (trust me it is not my browser, I tried 4 of them). Then I add to the cart and go to checkout and lo and behold none of my previously added information is there, I need to add them once again and my country is set to the UK even though I most definitely have several times to select and save my country in my dashboard under my data and billing fields. But of course these are silly issues which won't stop me from ordering.

Regarding 2, WA already replied that they are thinking about adding random XY modulation to Slop. I basically asked the for the same as you did. For the other two questions, I'm not aware of it.

I've also thought about 1. That could help build longer sequences. Basically rename the pattern bank 1-12 to A-L and then allow to define the overall sequence order by typing it in.

In the previous post, I've quoted the current roadmap from WA, I think its good to read it through to see what is already on there!

Geist 1 is the gold standard but it doesn't exist anymore and probably never will unfortunately. Surprised you would think Triaz is overwhelming though when coming from Geist. Triaz is pretty easy to figure out. Plus once they add some hot key shortcuts, switching pages will be super fast.

I wanted to follow up that Dan replied back to me regarding my inquiry of a discount code being available right after launch from a YT creator. It's exactly as I thought, a simple oversight due to a busy product launch. I really didn't ask for anything however he was very gracious and went above and beyond in rectifying my concerns.

I'm replying simply to reassure some folks that WA is a great company who stands by their products and more importantly their customers. I had no hesitation doing business with them previously, but this no doubt confirms my prior thoughts and I'll have no reservations at all about future purchases. I'm really looking forward to what's on the horizon with Triaz and future products.

Great job WA!

But it is still unclear to anyone else whether there is a specific coupon code offered after the release that some early buyers might have missed
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think so since the entry into the sequencer is not a discrete button press (apart from the bottom part.) ie. Every entry is a slider.

Triaz VST seems to have hung onto the Kontakt convention of being able to draw a line in the sequencer by right clicking and dragging horizontally. So that might go some way in getting same velocity if the notes are consecutive.

You can also work on a small loop e.g 4 beats by using the lane length bracket and then clicking the copy button.

Yes, indeed!

We are certainly open to taking feedback on board (as you will have seen from the roadmap post), but of course its impossible to please everyone, and trying to do so would ruin the product.

Needless to say, we have some very exciting developments happening with this platform, and I am excited for it :tu:
Just need a wavetable synth with editor, granular engine, spectral resynthesis, multimode filter, 17 MSEGs, spectral shaper, physical modelling engine and a clock.

Nothing major. Just a few tweaks.

Thanks for the response everyone

By now it is no surprise that I am 909 fan (I literally have all 909 VST, kontakt, and even m4l in existence, including sample-based ones + TR8S) so looking forward to the Revolution. Admittedly I sold Revoluton because I love the Smaller 909 library but after seeing Triaz workflow I will repurchase Revolution once when available.

One question though. Are the same samples be used for the Revolution (if yes then great) or there's a possibility of adding/sampling new 909/808 units for the sake of variations?

I had two 909 hardware and their BD sounded differently which was probably the effect of aging components but they sounded awesome both on their own.

I too am very excited for Revolution (Native) but I thought I read somewhere (maybe the old Triaz thread?) that the library for the new Revo Native will be all new from the ground up?

Maybe Dan can clarify?
