What are some of your favorite Room, Studio, Environment plug-ins for instruments and vocals ?

Simple room reverb plug-ins are not enough for me, I want to put dry instruments and vocals in good sounding rooms.
Main Computer Specs: MacBook M1 Max, 32GB, 4TB, Cubase 13.

AudioThing Fog Convolver 2 has plenty of spaces plus you can load your own to taste.

UAD Capitol Chambers and Sound City Studios.

If you want total control over where you are placing performers on the sound stage, with lots of choices for venues, then check out Inspirata or VSL MIR Pro 3D. But they are expensive (especially MIR) and take a ridiculous amount of HD space.

Convolution is your best choice when it comes to realistic sounding room ambiences. Convology XT free library includes a couple of different size rooms. Overloud ReMatrix Player has some free libraries, including the "Blackstar Studio" one, captured in a real life recording studio: https://www.overloud.com/products/blackstar-studio

There are also literally hundreds of well recorded impulses of rooms / halls / chambers that can be used with any convolution reverb. You can start here:

Do you prefer it to Relab?

I demoed the Savant QRS. I was going to compare it to Relab, and if they sounded the same, get the Savant because it's cheaper and the layout is closer to the real QRS. But then I realized I don't really like the sound of the QRS and couldn't find anything that it improved. But its possible the Relab model works where the Savant does not?

But uh... that's exactly what simple room reverb plugins do, they put dry instruments and vocals in a good sounding room. E.g. Valhalla Room: it does exactly what your asking for. Is it a "simple room reverb" that is "not enough" for you?

99.9% sure you're overthinking this, tbh.

Inspirata is excellent, particularly now the price has come down.

I do not like the companies treatment of customers / early adopters much tho. I would not buy their expansion packs either. But the professional version is excellent value at $199, has most everything you could want, and I think they do sales as well. It allows different positions for the 'players' in the room - and it works

Other excellent reverbs are Dear VR Pro - or ExoVerb from https://www.dear-reality.com/.

With any of these you never need another 'real' reverb again. I would recommend getting these if you can afford them and never thinking another reverb will somehow or other get you a 'realer' space. They wont, at best they will just be different but no better

I compared both of them against a real QRS I own and I found the Savant one to be the closest, especially for short rooms

Hands down: LiquidSonics Cinematic Rooms Pro. The most natural sounding algorithmic reverb I’ve ever heard, including hardware.
