I still hope for a day that some former emagic programmer posts the utilities for generating xskeys because I still have a very soft spot for Logic Audio Platinum 5...but I also don't post about it in every logic forum.
The S50 is almost the only thing this user posts about. This one "coming soon" rumor from four years ago from a random image from a non-english twitter account that has never been substantiated.
I mean, I don't think its much different than the people constantly asking for the JX8P but considering its almost the only thing in this users post history and almost no one else has talked about it, its pretty safe to assume this person is the sole source of this rumor... no matter how many times they use the words "coming soon" "software sampler" or "vst" in their posts.

A few points of interest for XV-5080 vs Zenology users.
Zenology didn't have reverb when they ported all the XV-5080 patches. You can hear this in XV-5080 patch "PR-B: 084 FXM Saw Lead" vs Zenology "PRST_E XV Collection: 212 FXM Saw Lead".
Zenology seems to be missing some FX like a timed gate. You can hear this in SRX Dance Trax "PR-A 001 Smash Beat" vs Zenology "EXZ012 Dance Trax: 001: Smash Beat".
Compared to all the SRX expansion cards, Zenology has most but not all the patches of those cards.

Is there a way to buy zenology with expansions without a sub?

yup, i noticed this quite awhile back. also, it seems that the velocity curves for different DAWs were not addressed before release as Zenology 5080, example is everything Roland sounds great inside Akai MPC but not very good inside Logic Pro. I finally bit the bullet and bought the Korg bundle today and I gotta tell ya, it is frickin' fantastic!!thenumber23 wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 3:34 am A few points of interest for XV-5080 vs Zenology users.

This is especially true about the EXZ expansions for Zenology; I was comparing the patches of World Instruments against the corresponding standalone SRX...and to no one's surprise they are DRY. Drier than the Sahara Desert.thenumber23 wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 3:34 am A few points of interest for XV-5080 vs Zenology users.

And of course this has never been fixed, or even addressed in any way by Roland.
But hey, Acid house-inspired sounds for the GALAXIAS Super Instrument by DJ Pierre!
I'm well aware it's been said time after time that subscribing to RC is not mandatory (and, I dare to say, right now is a borderline waste of money unless you're P4L), but at the same time I'm wondering why should I trust Roland when their release policy has been pretty much "throw stuff at the wall, hope something sticks and abandon what doesn't".

Lol, I guess you missed the reverb section, its initial value is set to to 0 but you can increase it all the way up plus you can choose between different types of reverb.vulpes777 wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:26 amThis is especially true about the EXZ expansions for Zenology; I was comparing the patches of World instruments against the corresponding standalone SRX...and to no one's surprise they are DRY. The reverb send was added in Zenology 2, it simply wasn't there when the expansion was first released.Bippo wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 9:23 amLol, I guess you missed the reverb section, its initial value is set to to 0 but you can increase it all the way up plus you can choose between different types of reverb.vulpes777 wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:26 amThis is especially true about the EXZ expansions for Zenology; I was comparing the patches of World instruments against the corresponding standalone SRX...and to no one's surprise they are DRY. tl;dr I know it's there but...good luck matching the reverb in the original SRX patch unless you do that one by one. That was my point.

Lol of course there's no point in trying to match the original reverb values, I'm just saying you aren't "stuck" with the initial dry sound.
I think Roland could have done a lot of things better in the vst department (better cloud manager app, releasing all srx in one vst with the xv5080, releasing supernatural acoustic sounds for zenology, etc) but at least they eventually included a reverb so that's good

yes, they added the reverb to zenology, but not before all of the classic preset packs were released without the reverb settings. THAT's the problem. dumb and dumber.

For fk sake, 1st world problems, so just dial in whatever reverb you want and move on with your life.JamminFool wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:15 pm yes, they added the reverb to zenology, but not before all of the classic preset packs were released without the reverb settings. You only need a Roland Cloud account, not a subscription, to buy lifetime keys from Roland. You can also buy from some 3rd party retailers (Sweetwater etc). They give you a code you redeem on Roland Cloud.Caine123 wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:37 amdoes anyone know this, i am not logged in the cloud via browser and you CANNOT buy lifetime keys WIHTOUT a subscription?
The $599 price is for Zenology with all 5 “Model Expansions”. Zenology Pro, by itself, is $229. So it works out to $370 for the 5 Model expansions, which will otherwise cost $149 individually(!) if you decided to get them later. Even at the reduced bundle offer, IMO, it's quite a steep price for what they are..thanks yes i think it is $599 if i see correct, this is kinda ridiculous price?
FWIW: JX-8P is exclusive to Zenology. The JD-800, other than being packaged inside Zenology, is otherwise identical to the Legendary plugin version. The Zenology Jupiter 8, Juno 106, and SH-101, are nice enough synths, but do fall apart a bit when compared to their (ACB modelled) Legendary counterparts.
The 15 "Wave Expansions", at $20 each, are a way to put the SRX samples into Zenology. However, as has been noted, they don't use reverb and may be missing a few other FX things. Reverb was added to Zenology 2. It's actually better than what's on the SRX plugins, but is not a like-for-like replacement. So the SRX plugins are currently the only way to get the original preset sounds as they were intended.
Anyone using Apple Silicon should also go with Zenology 2.The 1080 / 5080 / SRX plugins currently have CPU "spiking" issues with AS, and you might be waiting a while for a fix..

Hey PAK! The ZENOLOGY expansion of the JD-800 and ACB JD-800 are not built the same. They are built with different modeling components as to have different advantages.PAK wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:32 pm FWIW: JX-8P is exclusive to Zenology. This is a great point to bring up. We have had very few reports of CPU issues with the XV-5080, but have had some since our last update. We have attempted to test and recreate these issues but have been unable to do so. It is very difficult to solve performance issues unless we can recreate them. If you have this issue it would be very helpful to us if you reported them to our support team with a detailed description of your system and circumstances that lead to these spikes. Thanks y'all!PAK wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:32 pm Anyone using Apple Silicon should also go with Zenology 2.The 1080 / 5080 / SRX plugins currently have CPU "spiking" issues with AS, and you might be waiting a while for a fix..
